Group travel has become somewhat of a packaged experience or commodity for the lazy

and inexperienced tourist. However difficult it is today to remove this stigma, there are still

endless reasons why it’s better to travel in a group, whether one speaks of psychological

reasons, practical convenience or the simple delight of being surrounded with people.

Access Challenging Destinations

A lone traveller will find it easy to go wherever they please simply because there is no one

there to tell them otherwise. However, some of the most breathtaking destinations are

difficult to access alone. This is one of the instances in which travelling in a group becomes

most helpful: no destination is too difficult or too challenging with a helpful group.

Learn Different Cultures

The purpose of travelling is less about

beautiful sights or delicious food, but

more about the value of learning a

culture, a language or a life story. When

one travels with a large group with a pick

‘n mix of backgrounds, one meets

different people. This situation helps

significantly enhance understanding,

tolerance and humanity toward different

culture and walks of life.

Maintain a Sense of Balance

Touring with a group also helps balance

engagement in activities and down time.

Because the tour is group-based,

travellers get the luxury of as many

experiences as they can muster and still

go to bed at night knowing the next day

of travel is as exciting and fulfilling as the

one before. Travelling in a group allows a

person to be alone at times, but still be

part of something bigger.

Apart from the practical side of travelling in a group when it comes to cost and

accommodation, it also helps a traveller appreciate the beauty of going places, as well as

the comfort and delight that comes with collectively exploring something new. It allows a

person to see things they wouldn’t otherwise have seen alone and through a perspective

other than their own.
