Chp.1 Introduction to research

This chapter offers an introduction of the meaning of research, its types. It further identifies the difference between researchers and consultants and the advantages and disadvantages of each.

Chp.2 The scientific approach and alternative approaches to investigation

This chapter explains the hallmarks of scientific research and the process of conducting a research using the hypothetic-deductive method.

Chp.3 Defining and refining the problem

The chapter explains the importance of problem statement to research. It offers guidelines on writing a proper research question and problem statement.

Chp.4 The critical literature review

Conducting a literature review is critical in any research. This chapter explains key issues in this step such as identifying data sources.

Chp.5 Theoretical framework and hypothesis development

The chapter elaborates the different types of variables and illustrates how hypotheses are developed.
