No. 02 6076 1849 www.corryong.vic.edu.au [email protected] Dear Parents/Guardians, VCE 2019 Congratulations to all VCE students who received their scores yesterday. Overall, there has been outstanding results for the college of which each student and parents should be very proud. We will be excited to announce these further at the presentation night next Tuesday. However for now, results remain confidential until all students are contacted. Presentation Evening - Tuesday 17th December Please remember that the F-12 Presentation Evening is Tuesday 17th December. Taking on board feedback from students, staff, and parents, the format is quite different this year. The evening will commence with a barbeque at 5:00pm in the SAKG garden and the presentation commencing at 6:00pm. There will be a number of student performances, many from our juniors, as well as exhibition of students works. Student reports will be available for collection after the presentation concludes. If any of you are able to help with the cooking of the barbeque prior and around 5:00pm, could you please call the office to leave your name for Nigel Adkin who will get back to you. Thank you to you all in advance. We look forward to seeing you all there. 2020 Mobile Phone Policy Please ensure you are well aware of the No Mobile Phone Policy 2020 that was published last week in KIT. Most students have been informed, however it is important for you to discuss this with your child. It recommended that students do not bring mobile phones in to school at all. If they come into school, students will have absolutely no access to these during the school day. All phones will be locked away and returned at the end of the day. The college does not take any responsibility for any students phone. The above includes smart devices also. 2020 Advanced CFA Youth Crew This week the new CFA students have been announced. Congratulations to our new 2020 Year 9 crew; Nicola Costello Jack Daly Abi Davis Ada Drummond Amy Greenhill Julia Hoffmann Lachlan Martin Jonti McColl Mia Saxon Ella Twigg Zac Whitsed These students will join our 2020 Year 10 CFA Youth Crew photographed right. Unfortunately a few were away on the day of photograph. However, many photos will occur in the busy schedule that commences throughout 2020 of which you will see in future KITs. Congratulations to all. Details regarding the current CFA Camp will present next week. Change of service road signage for F-4 student safety. We are looking forward to F-4 students and staff commencing 2020 in the new building. Over the January break you will notice that the signage along the service road will change. There will be a 5 minute drop off zone in front and on the same side of the F-4 building. This is for F-4 parents/carers only and will extend from the boundary of the property (between SAKG and residential property) and stretch across the new F-4 building space to the canteen and delivery driveway (no public access allowed at any time via this driveway). The rest of the college side of the service road will be for buses only. We ask that all other parents and carers of students 5-12, drop their children off on the opposite side of where the buses pull up and leave. Staff will park opposite the P-4 building/drop off zone. Opposite the SAKG garden will be a No Standing zone. This allows space for the buses to pass through. We ask that you be vigilant in driving on this service road and be aware of changes in signage that will take place. F-4 play equipment update As you can imagine, the new building has taken a lot of dedication and drive to ensure we will be able to commence 2020. Students will start January 29th in the new building. This will be an exciting time. Unfortunately due to systems out of our control, not all play areas will be completed and you will see the old basketball court of which has been redesigned with proprioception play space and a 1/3 basketball court, installed over February. Whilst this is disappointing, it will mean that our children will be able to see the amazing transformation of this space. Whilst this is occurring, the play areas throughout the campus will be altered to accommodate our F-4 children. Students will be informed on their first day of return. This may result in moving the 5/6s to another area to play and allowing the F-4 to have the 5/6 hub play area until the new area is complete. We ask that you be patient with this as the wait will be worth the while. Looking forward to seeing you all Tuesday at the presentation evening. Fran Heath College Principal
