Who are we?

Servest is the destination for world class, integrated solutions to all your facilities managementrequirements.

Our philosophy is built on the foundation that Servest is in the business of people, they are the core of ourbusiness. The very reason our business exists is to partner with our clients to create an efficientenvironment where we allow them to focus on delivering on their core activities. Even as we continue togrow, we ensure that our promise of personalised, high quality service solutions are brought to our clients,no matter their sector or business size.

Our goal as a business is to optimise our structure and processes to ensure reduced cost, efficiencies andimproved customer service. Our customers are vital to the sustainability and growth of our organisationand therefore it is important for us to, rather than offer them a mere service, strategically partner withthem and present them with integrated solutions that optimise and support their own business strategy,increasing their triple bottom line. This is how we can add value to their businesses and set ourselvesapart from our competitors.

Our vision is to grow Servest by building a strong foundation for sustainable and profitable growth throughdriving a high performance culture that is focused on our customers. A feature of this strategy is theextension of empowerment into our African markets through training, associations, partnerships and jointventures. The aim is to create a foundation for sustainable growth through local capacity building.

Following a landmark black economic empowerment deal with our investment holding company KagisoTiso Holdings, Servest is the first, majority black-owned facilities management company on the Africancontinent with a significant presence in Africa with multicurrency earnings. Servest’s African operationsare headquartered in Johannesburg and have a footprint in multiple African countries.

Who are we? – Our History

Servest is founded by Kenton Fine & Dennis Zietsman in April.

The company makes its first acquisition in November -Durban based washroom & hygiene business, Total Hygiene Services.

1997

The group grows its UK operations by acquiring cleaning franchise operator, Ecocleen.

2001

Servest expands its offering into Cleaning, Laundries, Security & Marine Services by acquiring various entrepreneurially owned businesses.

On 6 August Servest lists on the JSE.

The Group further develops its offering by making acquisitions in Office Automation, Mail Logistics, Waste Management and High-tech Security Surveillance businesses.

1998

Servest enters the horticultural market with the acquisition of Real Landscapes and The Office Plant.

The Group takes its first steps to achieve its global ambitions with the acquisition of UK based cleaning & security company, Executive Group.

1999

Servest further expands its landscaping offering with the acquisition of sports field and turf specialist company, Turftek.

Adding to its global portfolio, the group acquires a waste management business in Sydney Australia and opens a security surveillance office in Nevada USA.

2000

Subject to a potential hostile bid on the JSE, Servest management effect a management buy-out with the help of African Merchant Bank and delist from the JSE

2002

Having received attractive offers for its foreign assets, the Group sells its businesses in the UK, Australia and the USA and focusses solely on South Africa for the next few years.

2003

African Merchant Bank exit the business & management take the opportunity to do a management buy-in, increasing their stake to 53% and simultaneously conclude a BEE deal with Safika and RMB Corvest who take up the balance of the equity.

Following on its previous success in the UK market, the Group decides to re-invest back into the UK by acquiring a 75% shareholding in Ecocleenand begins its UK buy and build strategy.

2006

Servest enters the parking management industry.

2008

The Group adopts a monolithic brand strategy by rebranding all its operations under the Servest brand, including the UK.

2010

The Group expands into Africa by acquiring Easipark and using this as a its base for growth into the continent.

2011

Furthering its Africa expansion the Group acquires Camp Management and Catering businesses operating in Africa.

2012

Servest takes its first step towards becoming an Integrated Facilities managerand Public Private Partnership operator, by acquiring ECH Solutions, operating in SA and Botswana

2013

RMB Corvest & Safika exit the SA business and pave the way for an Investment by Pan African investment company, KagisoTiso Holdings who acquire 51% of the business.

2015

Servest merges its UK business with global FM group, Atalianand Servest Africa exits the business.

2018

Servest remains a leading black owned FM company in Africa.

Our Contributions – Lesipho Trust

The Lesipho Trust is a fund and non-profit organisation (NGO) that seeks to provide opportunities and economic assistance to qualifying black South African’s and their businesses. The Trust has supported a number of organisations including Sapphire Blue, Mpilwenhle Wellness, Amugelang Trading , Jedidiah Corp, Umfundisi - Car Wash, Thape Media, Media Klink, Kumusa Consulting, and Bophelo and Ditiro.

Founded in 2014, the Lesipho Trust seeks to impact local communities, through Enterprise Development, Supplier Development and Socio Economic Development.

The Trust empowers communities and black businesses to create meaningful social change within the communities in which Servest operates. It assists companies in advancing their businesses and provides the necessary support they need to become Servest preferred suppliers, thus enabling their inclusive economic participation to drive their sustainability.
