Lesson 1: Systems and Introduction to Serif Web PlusI will update my folders on the network and make a new portfolio cover

I will build a portfolio cover explaining the what of ICT at LLS

I will be able to describe good design using the design triangle.

I will be able to use the assets and the tutorial to build the sample website

40 minutes of creating folders / design portfolio cover using summaries / ideas of safety.

1. Copy file “assets for photography website.zip” into their ICT folder and unzip.

Introduction to the unit:

What does Multimedia mean? Text, Digital images, animations, audio and video. Reminder about the Design Triangle.

What does Interactive Multimedia mean? Same as above but with navigation / response to user built in

Show website. Show first part of Tutorial. SAVE INTO Assets folder for easy transport.

2. Use Tutorial to work through important points of setting up the master page.

3. if necessary because of differentiation, ensure that all levels make progress by a method of your choice, i.e., have the more able help the less able, or separate into performance groups and give the more able additional advanced tasks to do and coach the less able with the tutorial. Perhaps use Kagan methods to have the more able help the less able.

HL1 please finish colour portfolio cover - CHECK Fronter.1. A4 Portrait - must have Computing and Your Name.

2. Each of the 5 unit titles (see Fronter) and at least an image/photo...

You could add some writing about each unit (see schemes of Learning)

You could add more than one image.

HL2Follow tutorial and build the Photograpy Website for next lesson - we will cover problems next lesson but try to sort them between buddies

Lesson 2 : Complete portfolio / Review website progress / Start DesignI will have an up-to-date Year 8 portfolio

I will know everything needed to complete my sample website

I will be able to edit an existing website using x-ray goggles

I will know how to design my own website with appropriate pages and complete my assets table one row at a time

Equipment out - WB/WB Pen/Ruler/pencil/Planner - collect folders from front.New SPINE LABELS.1. Check ALL Portfolio covers done (see HL from previous lesson) unit titles and images / correct spelling. Small changes - do for next lessons / If not done - detention tomorrow (Tuesday)

2. Check they have completed photography website (if not they will have time later in the lesson/complete for next HL)

Handout New SPINE LABELS - remove old ones and put in with NUMBER AT TOP.

Go through making the website - were there any problems? Could have 10 minutes with everyone helping those who found it difficult.

Activity 1 (approx 30mins) - Editing existing website using Xray Goggles- may want to check with Mr Lech

Show students to go to

https://goggles.webmaker.org/ and sign in using school email address.

Follow instructions for how to add the yellow “Activate X-Ray Goggles” button to your favourites. Go to www.bbc.co.uk and start changing the headlines to make it more personal.Extension - follow instructions for how to edit images too (find image on google, copy URL and add into your web page remix).

Create a NEW assets folder with the name of your website and be ready to save all your assets in there.

Lesson 3: Sign off design and start building website

1. Check designs from each. Go thro at front of class.

2. None will have done enough detail - they need clear drawings around the master page shape, with annotations for purpose of each page and design choices.

If needed they can have mediator open and decide on fonts, sizes colours etc.

3. Please check and sign off each one, before they start website.

4. Have them start the Website using a Master Page for navigation. If there are problems with the less able, use Kagan to have the more able review the process with the less able.

5. Have them include all of their pages with navigation.
