Many of this century's problems will require interdisciplinary solutions. Identify an important problem and describe an interdisciplinary approach to solving that problem. 

Imagine getting sick, and not being able to get better again. Imagine watching your loved ones suffer when you can’t do anything for them. Imagine the depression you will feel when you see the positive and know your death is inevitable. Fifty thousand individuals face these problems every year, and every year they are faced with the problem of living with HIV.

HIV has been around for decades and yet modern medicine has yet to completely cure it. If governments came together and applied an interdisciplinary approach involving economic, political and social perspectives to solving the problem, many lives could be saved.

A political approach to this problem involves getting government officials to work together to raise awareness. Many people think that individuals with aid deserve it or are dirty. But that’s not the case. People with the HIV virus are humans, just like us and others need to se it that way. Even today, some narrow minded individuals still believe that only those who identify as gay can get the disease.
