Hyperkalemia Is Prevalent Among Older Populations With Advanced Kidney Disease and/or Heart Failure

Based on analysis of 1.63 million persons aged 5+ years with potassium values on 2 dates (2008-2012), with >1 K+ value between 2.5 and 10 mEq/L during 2008-2012. Control population composed of patients ≥65 years without CKD stages 2-5, heart failure, diabetes, or end-stage renal disease (ESRD).
