Dear Parents and Pupils,

Gifts for Aged Enfield

Last Friday, we participated in Save the Children’sChristmas Jumper Day event. We raised £401.84 on the day. We thank our pupils and staff for their generosity.

Our pupils, parents and staff have been donating Christmas gifts of chocolates, biscuits, scented candles, gift soaps and such like for the elderly. We were delighted to provide such a magnificent collection of gifts to bring a little extra Christmas cheer into the lives of so many this year. We thank you for your generosity.

Christmas Card Competition

Presentation AssembliesThis week we celebrated the successes and achievements of our pupils through our presentations assemblies. These were led by our Achievement Directors, Mrs Hormann and Mrs Green. Congratulations to our pupils.

The winners of our Christmas Card competition are Year 7 - Luna (Franklin), Angelos (Dalton). Year 8 - Kamile (Newton), Elifsu (Anning). Year 9 - Sara (Dalton). and their winning pictures are shown in the following compilation Christmas card.

Year 7 and Year 9 ChangesWe are pleased to say that Broomfield is growing and this means that we have needed to review our timetables and Form classes. This means that in Year 7 and 9 we are introducing new form classes from January and pupils will be told their new form on their return to school. We have tried to keep the timetable changes to a minimum however your child may have different teachers for some lessons in KS3. Please check your child's new timetable as they now have new times for PE.

Christmas Reading from Mr NicholsonChristmas is a special time of year for many reasons: spending time with family and friends, eating lots of delicious food and enjoying the relaxation earned after a long term working hard at school. But, for me, one of the most special things about Christmas is the extra time I have to read. Once the mince pies and roastdinner have settled, I will be burrowing myself away and digging into a magical, inspirational and engrossing piece of literature. What bliss!

If you’re unsure of how to spend that extra money you might find at the bottom of your stocking, or are passing your local library and wondering what might enrich your lives this holiday, here are a few suggestions of festive reading and some recent releases for you to sink your teeth into. Happy Christmas reading! The Bane Chronicles, by Cassandra Clare

The Ghost of Heaven, by Marcus Sedgwick Wonder by Raquel Jaramillo Listen to the Moon, by Michael Murpurgo Moonrise by Sarah Crossan How the Grinch Stole Christmas, by Dr Seuss The Hogfather, by Terry Pratchett A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens Star Wars The Last Jedi Visual Dictionary by Pablo Hidalgo
