Challengers | Grades 1 & 2

Conquerors | Grades 3 & 4

Champions | Grades 5 & 6

We desire to impact the lives of children with the Word of God in a fun, dynamic way. What you don’t need is another program to layer upon what you already have. What you do need is a program that is based upon biblical principles. We believe that the Word of God makes the difference in the life of a child.

At Word of Life Children’s Ministries, we want children to have the time of their lives while engrafting the Word of God into their lives. How do we do this? How do we strive to develop godly children?

We believe that you start with . . .

Matthew 28:19-20 2 Timothy 2:1-2

Colossians 1:9-11; 2:6-7

Salvation of children Children and coaches growing

To evangelize and disciple young people to a dynamic Christian life by mature leadership through the local

church.

Reaching youth whose needs constantly change with biblical truth that never changes! The needs

of youth change as they grow older, and we need to adapt our program to the various age groups without

compromising the biblical principles.

The following pages will show you in detail how this dynamic program produces godly children.

2 Timothy 2:15 Joshua 1:8 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Provide students a vehicle for study, meditation and instruction from the Word of God.

To train youth to accurately handle Scripture, resulting in obedience and equipping them for service.

In six years you will cover every book in the Bible in the Bible Survey course. Each year you will get 16 Old Testament lessons and 14 New Testament lessons. Along with these there will be Character studies, lessons on the Life of Christ, Holiday and Theme nights and much more. You will receive a total of 48 lessons each year.

Each lesson has suggested adaptations to meet specific needs of your children. Some of the adaptations include ones for small groups, large groups and mostly unchurched kids.

The Bible Study walks you through exactly how to teach the lesson and includes group dynamics.

Developing a personal relationship with God through His Word and prayer.

Begin the week by reading the overview. These extra facts will

increase your understanding of the week’s passage.

Complete the activity for the day.

Each day, read the Daily Scripture Passage.

Then see how to apply the passage to your life!

Write down your prayer requests in your diary and

talk to God in prayer.

Psalm 119:11 Psalm 1:2 Joshua 1:8 Colossians 3:16

Internalizing Scripture to connect to life’s needs and problems is essential for a growing, obedient Christian.

The systematic memorization of Scripture will help a believer to sin less, witness more and encourage others.

The verses that the children are asked to memorize come right out of the lessons. This will help reinforce what they are taught in the lesson. Each verse also has a question that goes with it to help tie the verse to everyday living.

All verses are on a verse card in their student book along with the books of the Bible they are to memorize.

Grades 1 and 2 memorize 12 verses each year. Grades 3 and 4 memorize 18 verses each year. Grades 5 and 6 memorize 24 verses each year.

The purpose is not quantity, but quality. Children are not onlyto learn the verse but also to remember it and how it applies to their lives.

Sin less. Witness more. Encourage others.

Matthew 28:19 1 Peter 4:10 Hebrews 10:24 Acts 1:8

Engrafting the Word of God in lives to the point that it is demonstrated in compassion and care for others.

Direct and equip children in various avenues of serving God through individual and group evangelistic and service projects.

Each child is encouraged to participate in Christian service activities. The Christian Service manual has 30 individual services

and 24 group opportunities. A Challenger needs to do six a year; a Conqueror, nine; and a Champion, twelve.

Develop a habit of serving God through others. Sense the joy that comes in serving others.

Have the privilege of leading others to Christ.

The Olympian Christian Service Manual is designed to encourage students to get involved in a variety of opportunities to share their faith.

An incentive program that is creative and fun awaits your children. As you look through the next few pages, you will find many different ways to reward the children for being faithful to biblical principles. You can put together the awards that you want to make your program fun and exciting.

Every Olympian needs to get their Olympian student book (which includes their Quiet Time and verse card). In order to encourage the children and inform parents, a progress chart especially designed for Olympians is located inside each front cover.

The Olympian Record/Award Sheet also serves as an individual record sheet for the coach. As you peel off stickers to put on the manual, you also write down the date on the sticker sheet. This will automatically show you their progress.

On the back of this sheet there is a place to put name, address and other vital information about the children, as well as a place to keep track of Olympian attendance. This will greatly simplify the paperwork for the coach.

Each year a child can earn three award pins—one for bronze level, silver level and gold level.

The pins alternate from summer to winter each year. There are 18 pins in all to collect!

Children can place these pins on their backpack or Bible cover. (See back cover for pictures.)

What parent doesn’t enjoy putting something positive about

their child on their refrigerator? These are certificates you can

present as a child accomplishes each level. A great idea is to

do this in a church service, so you can give praise in front of

everyone!

This is a great way to keep all the awards that a child has won throughout the year. Children can place the patch, medal and pins all in this beautiful box for display or as a keepsake.

Olympian bronze, silver, and gold medals are available to reward children for being faithful throughout the year. These are beautiful medals with a place to write the date and name of the Olympian on the back. The ribbon comes with it in the color of their appropriate group.

Children love getting trophies. If a child is faithful in earning a gold

medal for six years, they can earn the Steadfast Trophy.

There is also a trophy for two and four years of faithfully earning gold medals.
