AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDSINCORPORATING

THE SAI GLOBAL SYSTEMS EXCELLENCE AWARDS

20122012awards

The Australian Business Excellence Awards Night celebrates the achievement

of Australia’s outstanding organisations with the presentation of the Australian

Business Excellence Awards and the SAI Global Systems Excellence Awards.

2012 will be the 24th year of the Australian Business Excellence Awards which

have provided the country’s premier showcase for distinction, quality and merit.

During that time the achievements of a wide-range of organisations have been

acknowledged, regardless of size or industry.

To attain recognition, organisations are assessed across a set of internationally

recognised criteria which underscore commitment to not only sustaining

bottom line results but to superiority of service, commitment to customers,

philanthropic ideals, ethical behaviour and environmental sustainability.

The SAI Global Assurance Group also recognises achievement and excellence

in SAI Global systems implementation and certifi cation. The winners have

demonstrated commitment to innovation, excellence and leadership within their

categories and have been able to provide substantial examples and quantitative

results. They have gone above and beyond the standard requirements of their

certifi cation to continually improve and propel their organisation forward.

So book your team table and enjoy a fabulous

evening and be inspired by some of Australia’s

defence; mining equipment and supplies; airlines; and other industries. In our keynote presentation Innes Willox will provide

insights and analysis - in an Australian and international context - on areas such as:

• The importance of innovation for future growth

• Shifting paradigms and thought leadership

• Seizing the opportunities which uncertainty brings

Innes Willox, Chief Executive, AUSTRALIAN INDUSTRY GROUP

10.10AM PLENARY 2: INNOVATION CONVERSATION

Creating the Future of Your Organisation

When change, and therefore uncertainty, is accelerating, a clear view of the future for an organisation may be nearly impossible

to imagine. And if they are lumbered with rigid systems, management and customer approaches, then moving into a new

direction is very diffi cult if the operating environment changes dramatically. In this conversation our panellists will discuss

the key issues for business moving into unforseen futures such as leadership, vision, innovation, collaboration and how the

implementation of the ABEF lays the foundation for these to occur:

• Leadership development

• Business model innovation

• Collaboration and participation across the organisation

• Creating alterative futures for your organisation

12.20PM PLENARY 4: 3D INTERVIEW

Building Flexibility Into the Organisation to Manage Bust and Boom Cycles

Whilst the GFC in 2008 spelt a dramatic drop in demand and business for many organisations, the opposite occurred for organisations

such as Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA). As part of a response to stimulate the economy Governments injected funds into a

range of initiatives focussed on Nation Building seeking to “support jobs today by building infrastructure we need for tomorrow”. This 3D

interview will analyse how main Roads was able to deliver its component as a result of the ABEF foundations it already had in place and

positioned it to be able to continue that response in light of the resurgent resources sector.
