Summary

College students of the MIllennial Generation, people between the ages of 18-28, have been tradionally apathetic when it comes to electoral participation

With the 2016 Presidential Election just around the corner, this is a huge concern because these unheard voices could make a huge difference by participating in the electoral process

Due to lack of Millennial Due to lack of Millennial Voter Participation, we have created the Bully PulpitSeries Festival: Pop-up Politics as an incentive to sign up and vote

“Millennial turnout for the 2014 midterm election was

preliminarily estimated at 21.3 percent, which was on par with

numbers from previous years. Although polls indicated they

supported a Republican-run Congress, the roughly 9.9 million

18- to 29-year-olds who voted in Tuesday's election preferred

Democratic candidates.

Plan B - Event in Cougar mall with music provided by CisternYard DJ

Raffle with incentives of free BP series merchandise, Starbucks/Chipotle gift cards, private meet and greets with candidates at future BP Series events

Chalkboard in Cougar Mall that will invite students to contribute - Board will read; “At CofC, We Vote. Why do you Vote? #CofCVotes” and ask students to write their own story or reason ( Will be in cougar mall next to table below our sheet from Jan. 7th until tentative dates of event)

Active updated tally of registered voters by BP Series, with Goal for reaching 800 registered voters by deadline, located in Cougar Mall

Carnival style games to be featured in either Plan A or Plan B:

“Pin the Hairpiece on the Trump”

“Wheel of Political Fortune”

“Operate with Dr. Carson”- games of Operation and race against the clock

“Feel the Bern Badminton” in Cistern Yard or “Feel the Bern Basketball” if Plan B in cougar mall

Trivia questions about candidates

“Rhymes with Rubio in the Studio” - guess the song after listening for 10 sec. (all are rubio’s favorite type of music)

“Guess the Clinton: Hill or Bill” - phrases and guess which Clinton said phrase

“Milk bottles with all the candidates faces on them and either red or blue rubber bands, must match the rubber band with the candidate’s political party ( red for a republican, blue for a democrat) “Break the Glass Ceiling with Carly and Hillary” Pinata
