it????

• So that we know what it looks like.

• So we don’t do it.

• So we know what we can do about it.

What is bullying?

• Purposeful-Bullying is not accidental. It is done on purpose.

• Imbalanced Power– The person who is bullying is thought to have more power

in the situation.

• Continuous – It happens more than once.

• Physical: harm to someone’s body or property

• Verbal: hurting someone’s feelings with words

There are 3 Types of bullyingThey can be direct (face-to-face) or indirect (behind someone’s back /

digital / electronic).

• Emotional or Social: harm to someone’s self-esteem or feeling of safety

What can you do about Bullying????

• If you see someone being bullied?– Be an Upstander, not a bystander!

• If you are being bullied?– Tell the person to stop (Be assertive, not aggressive).– Find an adult, that you trust, and report the bullying.

• If you are the bully?– Find an adult that you trust (parent, counselor, spiritual

leader, etc…) and talk to them about your concerns.
