Proximity card (IC card)
Entering and exiting the building
The Kasumigaseki Building uses a proximity card (IC card) system. Tenants are required to use this card when entering and exiting the building
outside regular building hours and when entering and exiting tenant rooms. IC cards provide high security features, such as their superior
resistance to forgery. IC cards can make it possible to distinguish different users due to their embedded integrated circuit devices (IC chips).
IC cards are lent to tenants. The number of cards lent varies
depending on the areas of the tenant lease contract. A
maximum of one free IC card per 15 square meters (at the time
of move-in) is lent to tenants. Fill in the “IC Card System
Application Form” and submit it to the Kasumigaseki Building
Service Center.
IC cards are entrusted to tenants on a rental basis. Each tenant
is expected prevent loss, damage, or staining of the card.
When a proximity card is lost, damaged, or stained, contact the
Kasumigaseki Building Service Center immediately and submit
an official “Notification of Loss of IC Card for Entry and Exit” to
the center.
To reissue a card, fill in the “IC Card System Application Form”
and submit it to the Kasumigaseki Building Service Center.
Tenants who lose, damage, or stain their proximity cards are
required to pay replacement costs. Our website contains price
information.
Each proximity card carries unique information. Those other
than the authorized user are forbidden from using the
registered card.
Please note the following points to prevent damage to the IC
chip in the proximity card.
When tenants need proximity cards exceeding the maximum
number of free cards, or need to change the registered data of
cards due to events such as personnel changes, fill in the “IC
Card System Appl icat ion Form” and submi t i t to the
Kasumigaseki Building Service Center.
Tenants are required to pay a service charge for additional
cards.
Hold the card horizontally to the card reader within approximately 50 mm of the unit.
A card stored inside a wallet can still be read. Using it in a metal casing or when next to other IC cards may obstruct card confirmation.

In the event of a disaster
In the event of a disaster
If you see a fire, the first priority is to call 119. There are many
cases where a fire got out of control because a person failed to
call 119, thinking the fire was inconsequential.
To prevent the fire from spreading, the members of the main
and local firefighting squads are expected to start their
designated activities, such as preliminary firefighting, using the
extinguishers and fire hydrants.
Other people are advised to begin evacuations immediately,
following the directives of management issued through
emergency announcements.
First, ensure your own safety, such as by take refuge to under a
desk or by protecting you head.
While ensuring your own safety, extinguish any flames and
secure an evacuation route if possible.
Even after the tremor has subsided, there may be aftershocks.
Do not use any flames, and extinguish cigarettes.
Do not approach any fixtures, furniture or windows that may
collapse.
In the event of a power failure, the emergency lights will come
on and provide sufficient illumination to enable you to confirm
personal safety.
The emergency generators will begin operation within several
minutes and supply power to the disaster prevention facilities
and the facilities necessary for evacuation and disaster
prevention.
When the electricity is restored, please reactivate the facilities
that stopped operating during the power failure.
Kasumigaseki Building is designated as a “stay indoors”area.
The internal refuge site is the Lobby floor.
When it is necessary to evacuate the building, the Disaster
Control Center will report the situation and issue instructions.
Follow the instructions and begin evacuation.
Use the fire escapes (staircases A and B) to evacuate.
When evacuating the building, do not use the elevators. The
emergency elevators (goods elevators) are used exclusively by
staff from the Disaster Control Center and the fire brigade for
firefighting operations. Tenants are not allowed to use them.
Each office is required to confirm the safety of their employees
after evacuation. Report any missing or injured people to the
Disaster Control Center.
Notify the people around you calling out, “Fire!”
Call 119
Call the Disaster Control Center. The staff from
the center will rush to the site and prepare for the
arrival of the Fire Department.
Conduct preliminary firefighting using fire extinguishers
and fire hydrants only while your safety is secured.
When the sprinkler is activated, it indicates that
preliminary firefighting is finished. Begin to evacuate
immediately.
In the event of a disaster, the building management
may restrict the use of entrances and exits to
prevent secondary disasters due to inadvertent entry
to or exit from the building.
