Each unit of work is assessed using the following grading system:• Pass—Equivalent to an E grade at A-Level• Merit—Equivalent to a C grade at A-Level• Distinction—Equivalent to an A grade at A-Level
Outline of the courseThe coursework process:• Assignment task content taught by teacher• Assignment content, requirements and layout explained by teacher• Students working on assignment task and is produced by deadline date
given• Teacher marks the final submission of the assignment task and awards
final grade criteria for the task• There are not usually second attempts (see below)• Students must achieve the criteria the first time so must give each task
their full effort and commitment • A resubmission can be granted by the Lead Internal Verifier (Miss Victory)
– these are granted rarely and students have to meet certain criteria to qualify including having given it in on time
• They would get 10 days to improve the work – no guidance will be given for this
Stationery Requirements
• Five large folders (lever arch not ring bound)• Pens – black or blue, and red• Ruler• Pencil and rubber• Colouring pencils• Memory stick or external hard drive

• Your challenge is to decide which decade each of the events occurred in
• If you get the correct decade you will get one point for your team
• If you get within three years you get two points• Let’s see what you know!
Bridging work
• Over the Summer research the following animation developments:– The magic lantern– The phenakistoscope– The zoetrope– Computer generated imagery (CGI)
• Explain:– what each is, – how it works – and how it developed animation.
Final Tips
• Ensure you purchase your stationery before arriving in September
• File notes after EVERY lesson• Read around your topics – we will provide you
with a reading list for each unit• Always make sure your coursework hits the
