BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma Travel and Tourism This two-year course is equivalent to one A Level and will give you an in-depth knowledge of the travel and tourism industry, one of the most important contributors to the UK economy and an exciting industry to work in. You will investigate a range of topics designed to develop your understanding of the industry and provide a basis for a career in travel and tourism. About the Course You will gain practical skills and essential knowledge for the growing travel and tourism industry through a combination of lessons, personal research and written assignments. Mandatory units will provide you with a general understanding of the industry while the optional units will develop your specific skills and specialist knowledge. All students study four mandatory units: Investigating the travel and tourism sector The business of travel and tourism The UK as a destination Customer service in travel and tourism. Students then need to study at least two optional units, such as: Preparing for employment in travel and tourism European destinations Long-haul travel destinations There is no need to have studied Leisure or Travel and Tourism before. How you will be assessed All units are assessed via assignments throughout the two years. A grade is awarded for the whole qualification which is worth UCAS points and is recognised by universities.
