Biography of Members *Brynn Larson-Born and raised in Colorado, Brynn is studying Open Option
engineering at CU this year. She enjoys everything about the universe and Britney Spears.
*Trey Karsten- Trey was born in Arizona, but grew up in Colorado. This will be his 4th year at CU and he is currently studying astronomy. He graduates in May and is moving to Alabama to work for the Air Force. He enjoys snowboarding, skydiving, and most outdoor activities.
*Terek Campbell- Terek was born in Englewood, Colorado and lived throughout the state for his whole life. He is a freshman at CU studying computer science which he has been interested in since he was 7. He enjoys hanging out with friends, playing videogames, and not being on crutches.
*Shunsuke Miyazaki-Shunsuke was born in Japan. He is a senior Aerospace engineering major with Applied math and Economics as minor. His study interests are bioastronautics engineering, a space elevator, high-maneuver Aerodynamics, and space-based solar power system.
*Marcus Flores-Marcus was born in Colorado and grew up here and in Maryland. He is a photographer and plans to make money off of it. He also wants to be an astronaut. He enjoys music, sports, and CU.
*Marcell Smalley- Marcell was born on August 3rd, 1991 in Bemidji Minnesota. She is a freshman at CU this year studying Aerospace engineering. She enjoys swimming, volleyball, funny movies, and hanging out with friends.

Mission StatementTeam Ochocinco shall ascend to an
altitude of 30 kilometers in order to: Analyze the intensity of Sunlight on both the
ground and high altitude by measuring solar power input/output density with solar cells.
Measure the time interval to charge the Li-ion battery with solar cells
Ensure the loss of the efficiency of solar cells; typical solar cells lose from 0.025% to 0.075% of their efficiency per C degree as temperature increases above 28 degrees Celsius.

Mission Statement (Cont)Team Ochocinco will collect debris from near
space using a mechanism designed to open a door and allow particles to impact low-density Aerogel. (Stardust)
We will then analyze the composition of the particles we collect.

Andromeda Galaxy
Mission PurposeTeam Ochocinco will measure and analyze the
intensity of sunlight in order to prove that the satellite can detect higher solar power input/output density.
From the results of mission, Team Ochocinco would like to assert the advantages of a space-based solar power system (SBSP). SBSP is a system for the collection of solar power in space, for use on Earth. In space, the collection of the Sun's energy is unaffected by the
day/night cycle, weather, seasons, or the filtering effect of Earth's atmospheric gases.
04/20/23 Team Ochocinco
Mission Purpose (Cont)Aerogel experimentSome of the debris we collect will consist of
explosion fragments, paint flakes, slag from solid rocket motors, and coolant released from nuclear powered satellites.
A lot can be found out about the solar system just using dust analysis such as, the study of zodiacal light, Saturn’s B Ring spokes, star formation, and the ending of a stars life.
We would try and study the composition and from this we can gather recognizable data about the origin of the dust (comet, asteroidal, interstellar, star dust, etc.)

Design Process1. Team Ochocinco plans on using the HOBO to
store the data during the experiment to record the full time for temperature, pressure, acceleration. The satellite takes pictures every 3-5min.
2.At altitude 20 ~ 25km, start charging the Li-ion butteries and measure and store current data generated by solar cells into HOBO.
3.At the top of the flight for a few seconds before burst, compartment is opened in space using a mechanism powered by solar cells. Aero gel collects the substances included in atmosphere.

Design Process (Cont.)
4. After retrieving, the data will be downloaded everything from the HOBO to a computer.
5. Analyze the data with MATLab and spread sheet to come up with our conclusions.

Biggest Worries
• Calculation the incidence angle of Sunlight.
• HOBO Data Logger may not take complex enough data for light intensity science experiment.
• Overweight and over budget• Aerogel collection (time limit, amount of
particles)
