Goodwins Classic Coaches is part of Go Goodwins, a family business

with three generations of Goodwins involved in its day to day

operations. Now in his seventies, Alan Goodwin is the eldest of the

trio. He still provides advice for his son Geoff, Geoff’s wife Suzanne,

grandson Wesley and Wesley’s wife Sally, who manage the business

today.

Go Goodwins operate a fleet of 10 modern coaches for Private Hire

and are our proud holders of the contract with the

English Cricket Board, responsible for the transportation of the team

and their opponents when in the UK. All of our front line coaches

prominently carry the ECB logo.

Complimenting their private hire business they operate bus services

tendered through TfGM in the Greater Manchester area with there

dedicated fleet of 25 buses.

When it comes to wanting to know you are in the safe hands of your

coach and driver you need look no further than Goodwins. Proud of

their fleets and contracts they ensure down to the last detail that both

the coaches themselves and the drivers qualifications are maintained

to exacting standards. Both on site training facilities and workshops

for the coaches ensure that all regulations are complied with and are

done so under their own control.

In addition to the buses and coaches operated there are a number of

other vehicles owned that are worthy of note and the pride of

ownership of which led to Goodwins Classic Coaches. A fleet of 9

classic coaches dating from the early 1950s through to the early

1980s of varying manufacture.

Regency Road Pullman Touring Company as many of you will

remember set a bench mark for classic coach holidays and with the

ambition of Goodwins to carry on that standard with the purchase of

their coaches they are working with the same enthusiasm they have

in the other aspects of their business to continue to provide Classic

Coach tours to outstanding places of interest, staying at hotels of

proven good quality, offering the same quality of courier service

1967 AEC Reliance Duple Commander III

Built in 1968 this Duple Commander 111 has an AEC 505 engine

and was new to Byngs of Portsmouth and sold to Spiers of Henley

in 1972. When Spiers closed their doors in 1985 it was stored

away until 2012 when the AEC society approached us to save 2

coaches from going to the scrap yard (the other one being XOT

104). It took 3 months to restore at a cost of £50,000. We now take

pleasure in using this vehicle on our private hire and excursion

programme and taking her to rallies.

Lady Sarah EUU 117JBuilt in 1971 new to Glenton tours of London specifically for

continental touring for this unique touring coach company.

Owned by Regency Tours in Cheshire the vehicle has worked on a

busy continental programme visiting the North Cape of Norway on

many occasions and has also travelled to Russia twice along with

Germany, Switzerland France, Ireland and most of the UK. It has

now passed into the hands of Goodwins Coaches who have fully

restored the vehicle ready for another few years touring.

Lord Clive HYR 175WAgain this vehicle was built for Glenton tours of London and

passed through the hands of various owners before Regency

Tours restored the vehicle to use on their holiday programme,

again throughout the continent and in the UK. Goodwins coaches

have now got the vehicle and restored it to their high standard.
