Colleen Harte Lucy_Annabella Colleen Harte Colleen Harte is a Complementary Therapist and Clinical Aromatherapist who lives believes that ‘our health is paramount to our happiness’ and that ‘being organic’ is about what we put on our bodies as what we put into them. Having travelled extensively in search of knowledge, the finest ingredients and organically dedicated farmers, she was inspired to create Lucy Annabella Organics in 2011, to actively combine her life’s loves and pursue her passion to formulate and blend beautifully authentic organic products.

TITLE: “Lessons Learnt” Starting a business, building a brand and reaching the market without breaking the bank. With tips to help and hopefully save businesspeople in the room some precious time and cash as they develop their ideas.

10.40 – 11.10

Michael McGrath @tracefirst Michael McGrath is a software engineer who loves what he does. In 2007, he and a business partner founded Trace First, the global leader in provision of “off-the-shelf” systems for national and regional governments wanting to optimise their Animal Health Information Systems. Since then virtually 100% of their revenue has come from overseas with major success in early 2011 when they won a $5m contract with the US Federal Government to licence software and a bundle of implementation services from them. With users in every US state they are building upon this footprint.

TITLE: “An Armagh Company that Cracked the US Market” Michael’s talk will share some do’s and don’ts based on the experience of selling globally; Self-funding as an alternative to Venture Capital investment for growth, tools Trace First use on a daily basis and some they avoid.

Niall Harbinson @simplyzesty Niall is an entrepreneur who founded Simply Zesty in 2009 in his spare bedroom with €10,000 in start-up capital, and developed it to a global digital agency and selling it 3 years later to UTV. The company helps brands such as Vodafone, Samsung and Sony with their social media strategies developing creative campaigns on platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Simply Zesty recently merged with Tibus Digital to create one of Ireland’s and the UK’s largest digital media agency with 50 people spread between Dublin, Belfast and London. Niall now works on growing the company across Europe, Asia and the USA working with large international brands on their digital and social media strategies. Niall is also an angel investor backing small Irish companies to help them create jobs and achieve the same success as Simply Zesty.

TITLE: “New Media but Old Habits” Having sold the company he founded last year, and continuing to manage one of (all) Ireland’s largest digital agencies Niall has learned a lot but also realised not much has changed when it comes to being successful in business. It’s still about making contacts, keeping contacts, knowing what you’re good at – and most importantly what other people you work with excel at and each doing precisely that, always being flexible and being realistic. World (market, territory – you pick!) domination can come, if you’re practical about it….
