Learned how to use GIS 4.1 with Mr.E. Made bird feeders out of recycled gallon jugs with Mrs.McGheeChemistry tests in the stream with Mr.LCaught critters with Mrs.Peffer
GIS-Geographic Information System is a cross between a data base and a mapping system.
Tests include, Ph, Iron, Dissolved Oxygen, hardness, temperature, conductivity, and Alkalinity.
Critters-Caught by shaking the rocks then scooping them with strainers. We caught crayfish, water striders, and nymphs.
Went on a scavenger hunt using a GPSMade team t-shirts and our bannerDid chemical tests at the Painted Turtle PondCaught some interesting things at the pondSaw the owl presentation
GPS-Global Positioning System is used to find the coordinates using satellites.
At the owl presentation we learned about different kind of owls and where they are located. We also learned that owl boxes are being put up to bring back the population of the Barn owl.
Checked out the soil on the Chestnut TrailGot on television when the 69 News Cast dropped byUsed teamwork to get across a “ravine” on a rope.Learned about infiltration.
Soil-Dug a hole and observed layers of soil. We took the layers and did a Ph test and measured the slope.
Infiltration-Learned about what materials absorb water the fastest and did a test on the rate of the absorption.
Geocaching for quiz questions on Lewis and Clark Observed reptile presentationHung out in the Nolde Forest Mansion
