BACKGROUND

Realizing the importance of forensic molecular biology, DNA fingerprinting, DNA barcoding, and DNA diagnostics in human health care, molecular breeding, functional biomedical genetics, drug development and gene therapy with application of evolutionary studies and the genetic engineering. The Dr.Prem P Jauhar Laboratories of Molecular Sciences, New Delhi India is take initiative at international level organizing Training On Forensic Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, DNA Fingerprinting And DNA Barcoding 2012. The main aim of this training is to provide hands on experience to the various prospects of this new emerging field and share opportunities among scientists, engineers, doctors, research scholars and students in India and abroad. The training will provide an excellent platform for work and share them with science, engineering, molecular biology, forensic, evolutionary biology, molecular breeding, genetically modified crop/organism/animal (GMOs, LMOs and transgenic) and medical background and help to come together, take the challenges in rapid development of this emerging field across the globe toward the biodiversity biotechnology, biosystematics, livestock genetic diversity, marine biodiversity and biotechnology, marine and fresh water fish biodiversity, ornithological studies, fisheries biotechnology, insects and pests diversity, agro entomology, integrated biological control ,sericulture biotechnology, animal medicine, intellectual property rights and patents, animal and veterinary products, animal nutrition and feed technology, conservation strategies and anthropological molecular survey studies.

Training Theme

1. General Laboratory Experiment : (Hands on): DNA isolation from Plant, Bacteria, Yeast, Fungi , Animal Tissue (Heart, Kidney, Lever, and Blood etc), Quantification and Quality check of isolated DNA, DNA Dilution, PCR Amplification of DNA using Multiplex Primers, PCR Amplification of DNA using random 10mer primers for RAPD, PCR Amplification of DNA using SSR primers, Micro Satellite Analysis and STR Primer for DNA Fingerprinting, Separation Following Automated electrophoresis, Data Capturing, Data Analysis and DNA fingerprint development.

2. Human DNA Fingerprinting and Identification :Laboratory Experiments (Hands on): DNA isolation from human blood, quantification and quality check of isolated DNA, DNA dilution, PCR amplification of DNA using multiplex primers, fragment (allele) separation following electrophoresis, data capturing, data analysis and DNA fingerprint development

3. DNA Fingerprinting of Plants following Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) and Microsatellite techniques: Laboratory Experiments (Hands on): Isolation of DNA, quantification and quality check of isolated DNA, DNA dilution, PCR amplification of DNA using random 10‐ mer primers for RAPD, PCR amplification of DNA using SSR/ISSR/STR primers for microsatellite analysis, agarose gel electrophoresis of PCR products for RAPD, allele separation following automated capillary electrophoresis for microsatellite analysis, data collection and data analysis

4. DNA barcoding of animals using Cytochrome C Oxidase subunit I (COI):Laboratory experiments (Hands on): DNA isolation, quantification and quality check of the isolated DNA, DNA dilution, PCR amplification of DNA using COI primers, agarose gel electrophoresis of PCR products, gel elution of PCR products, sequencing of PCR products and sequence data analysis.

5. Forensic Molecular Biology: DNA Fingerprinting method of plant, animals, microorganisms, human and Diagnostics (Disease Diagnostics, Heritable Disease Diagnostics, Cancer Diagnostics, Pathogen Diagnostics, Parental Diagnostic, and Mass Disaster of Natural Calamities and Army Causality.

6. DNA Fingerprinting: Methods and protocols used in DNA Fingerprinting of Human, DNA Fingerprinting of animals, DNA Fingerprinting of Fishes, DNA Fingerprinting of plant, DNA Fingerprinting of fungi, Bacteria, and Yeast etc. Implication and issues with techniques.
