Multiple positioning control units Multiple positioning control units with pre-programmed fea-tures ensure quick and safe tabletop positioning. The rail-mounted main control panel, portable hand-held controller, andfoot-operated controller can be positioned for convenient accessfrom any point around the table. The main panel with backlitliquid crystal display mounts on either side of the table. TheLCD screen displays actual tabletop position (all axes) in realtime, and provides menus and prompts for other functions. Upto ten position settings may be stored in the system memory. A“Level” button brings the table to 0° tilt and 0° lateral roll.“Home” levels the table and lowers the tabletop to minimumheight for patient transfer. Free-float featureA push-button release for the free-float feature is located atthe end of a handgrip that can be placed at any point on theOR accessory rail. Whenemploying any degree of tilt or roll, X and Y positions are"locked" to prevent gravity-induced X or Y motion. Selective"lockout" of X or Y movement is also provided: Head-to-toe(X) float can be maintained during lateral roll; Side-to-side (Y)float can be maintained during Trendelenburg positioning.

contour top. These shields are custom fitted to match the unique contours of theBiodex tabletop. Constructed of 0.5 mm lead equivalent panels, the shields donot impede C-Arm access. There are two shields available. One is designed to be used at the head end ofthe table for head and cervical procedures. The other is used at the main section of the table during thoracic or abdominal procedures.The shields are easy to add or remove as needed. More adjustments and features…The Fowler back adjusts with a simple touch-handlelock/unlock mechanism to an 80° angle with incrementalstops at 20°, 30°, 40°, 50°, 60°, 70° and 80°. The narrow Fiberesin™ tabletop of the Brachytherapy C-Arm Table is cantilevered to accommodate portable or ceil-

ing suspended C-Arms. Radiolucent areas are free of crossmembers, allowing full fluoroscopic visualization and unob-structed C-Arm positioning. Functional design provides com-plete access while minimizing radiation exposure to clinicians. Designed and equipped specifically for seed implantationprocedures the Brachytherapy C-Arm Table features a radiolu-cent extension that provides capability for brachytherapy treat-ment involving the upper body and general C-Arm applica-tions. Motorized actuation of height, X-Y, lateral roll and Trendelenburg motions of the tabletop, with pre-programmedfeatures, ensure quick and safe tabletop positioning during anyphase of a procedure.

Control made easyThe LCD screen of the Main Control Panel displays actualtabletop position (all axes) in real time, and provides menusand prompts for other functions. Up to ten position sets arestored. A “Level” button brings the table to 0° tilt and 0° lat-eral roll while “Home” both levels and lowers the tabletop tominimum height for patient transfer. The portable hand-heldand foot-operated controllers also adjust the table. TheJoystick Controller is used for motorized X-Y positioning andfeatures proportional speed control.

More adjustments and features… The Fowler back adjusts with a touch-handle lock/unlockmechanism to an 80° angle with incremental stops at 20°, 30°,40°, 50°, 60°, 70° and 80°. The table comes with a lightweight non-imaging patienttransfer extension and a radiolucent extension. The radiolucentextension is made for vascular, cardiac, and other general C-Arm applications. A standard OR accessory rail makes step-per positioning quick and easy. Select from knee crutches orthe PAL stirrups, standard or Dura Board arm boards—con-figure the table to your exact specifications.Both AC and battery power are standard. Eliminate powercords with battery operation. An optional battery, with sepa-rate charging unit, can provide cordless operation.

Control made easyThe LCD screen of the Main Control Panel displays actualtabletop position (all axes) in real time, and provides menusand prompts for other functions. Up to ten position sets maybe stored in system memory, and recalled at any time for auto-matic positioning. A “Level” button brings the table to 0º tiltand 0º lateral roll. “Home” levels the table and lowers thetabletop to minimum height for patient transfer. The portablehand-held and foot-operated controllers adjust the table frompositions away from the main panel, or when hands are busywith other functions. The Joystick Controller is used formotorized X-Y positioning and features proportional speedcontrol.

More adjustments and features…The table comes equipped with a non-imaging extension anda radiolucent extension. A standard OR accessory rail locatedat the foot end of the table makes stepper positioning quickand easy. Select from knee crutches or the PAL Stirrups, stan-dard or Dura Board arm boards—configure table accessories toyour exact specifications.Both AC and battery power are standard. When operating onbattery, there are no power cords to catch on feet or block tablewheels. Battery charging can be accomplised during off hours byplugging in the AC adapter cord. An optional battery with sep-arate charging unit can provide continuous cordless operation.

The Easy Mover is a high-density polyethylene patient trans-port board that offers high-impact strength, excellent abra-

female reproductive organs during pelvic radiography, angiogra-phy and fluoroscopy. Unlike most shielding devices for the ovaries,uterus and fallopian tubes, our Figleaf Gonad Shields DO NOTobscure diagnostically important surrounding bone structures.

Maximum ProtectionFigleaf provides the protective shielding of 1mm lead equiva-lency and consistently blocks a minimum of 65% of all direct-beam radiation to gonadal tissues and significantly reduces scat-ter to vital organ areas.

How To Use The FigleafProper positioning of Figleaf places the shield’s vertical linedirectly on the mid-sagittal line of the patient’s abdomen – withthe bottom edge of the shield aligned 1/2" (1.3 cm) to 3/4" (2.0 cm) above the pubic symphysis. When properly positioned, the Figleaf is secured to the skin or to close-fittingundergarments with microspore tape for best results.Selection of the correct-size Figleaf is based upon the patient’sabdominal thicknesses. When the Figleaf is positioned on thepatient, the shield is separated by some distance from the ovariesand by an even greater distance from the x-ray film surface. Thiscauses magnification of the shield shadow at the level of the ovariesand even more magnification at the film surface. By factoring mag-nification, a small Figleaf can be used to give complete gonadalshielding without obscuring pelvic bone.

“There are many aspects I like about the Biodex Ultra Pro Ultrasound Table. For starters, the size of this ergonomically designed table is goodfor patient comfort. It’s long enough and wide enough that patients don’t end up with their arms or feet hanging off the

table.

“The remote control features are another plus. They eliminate the need to physically move, adjust or lift thepatient’s head or torso; up and down, lateral tilt, Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg - with a 500-poundweight limit, this table can handle and position just about any patient we encounter.

“I also like the arm extension board. During vascular exams, it allows for optimal scanning positioning without thepatient’s hand draped across your lap. I also find the reverse Trendelenburg positioning for venous exams an asset
