The critical challenge of leadership status as outlined by Ayo Olashore provides a better
analysis that enables further understanding of the context of leadership. According to the writer,
even though Ayo asserts that leadership is not new concept, further research show that various
leadership skills emerge every time contributing to its uniqueness and its new context. Different
people understand leadership in a different manner (Northouse, 2007). Therefore, an older
context of leadership to one person is often a new context to another person creating the essence
of the uniqueness of leadership.
Secondly, the student refers to leadership as a positive influence on the people.
Contrarily, leadership entails both positive and negative leadership. The reference in the writings
is positive leadership which results in positive influence. In that sense, the student has limited,
his definition of leadership to the positive influence which is exclusive of bad leadership which
influences followers negatively. Furthermore, as the student was explaining the effective
communication concerning leadership, he failed to mention that there are some instances of poor
communication even though it leads to business failure (Mulec, 2006). In short, the company
only focuses on positive leadership without considering aspects of poor leadership.
Understanding the social aspect of leadership in acquisition, use and creation of
knowledge requires individualized learning process. As much as the writer postulates that such
aspects only require a leader, extensive research indicates that processing of such information
requires individuals together with the leaders (Allio, 2015). Most importantly, the organizational
influence does not only depend on a leader as the writer presumes, but also involves the ability of
an individual to learn with a focus on the organization’s past, beliefs and surroundings. Ideally,
leadership entails not just the leader alone, but also the followers. Moreover, the aspect of
innovativeness and unbiased feedback in non-measurable limiting its analysis of one of the

qualities of leadership. In short, the student focused extensively on positive leadership without
addressing aspects of positive leadership.
