Your profile

• At the top right of most pages you should see a button with your name followed by an @ character and the name of the organisation you are in

• Click in the button to show your profile

User Profile

• A dialog is shown that allows you to– Change your displayed

name (not the identifier you logon with)

– Change the language you want the server to use

– Reset your password– Logout

• Screens that show project dependent information have a project select button at the top left of the screen

• The selected project is remembered for your next session

Projects

• Forms are stored in projects• Users can be given access to a project which gives them

access to the forms in that project• Use projects to:

– Simplify the work environment• Enumerators would generally only have access to the project they are

working on so they are not distracted by other surveys• Analysts may have access to several projects but only in the area they

are working on• Keep the number of forms per project small

– Security• Users who do not have the “admin” role will not be able to look at forms

in projects they have not been assigned

Manage a project

• You can Create, Delete and Rename projects on the User management page– To create a project click on the “Add Project” button– To rename a project click on the button with the project’s name– To delete a project click on the check box next to the projects

you want to delete then press the “Delete” button under the list of projects

• When you create a project you are automatically added as a user of that project

• Add or remove users of a project by clicking on the user’s id and select the projects they have access to

Users

• Create a new user• Delete users and projects• Change a users details including password• Change a project name• Set a users role

– Admin• Create and modify projects and users

– Analyst• Upload form templates and view results

– Enumerator• Download forms to the phone and upload results

Testing

• Complex Forms lots of skip rules (relevance) some questions or sections may be rarely asked

• Define a set of test cases that ensure all combinations of questions get validated prior to the survey

• For example:– Households with no children– Households where head of household is less than 18 – ….

Connecting to the Network

• Wi-Fi– Press home > Menu > Settings > Wireless and Networks >

Wi-Fi Settings– Check the WiFi checkbox– If necessary:

• Select the network you want to connect to and enter password

• GSM• Hot Spot

Phone Care

• Fully charge new phones 6 hours before first use• Provide a pouch or protective case

Trouble Shooting

• Can you get a network connection?– Use browser on phone– Go to Google– Enter a search

• Phone is broken!!!!– All data is on the sd card– Put it into another phone and send it from there

• Does the form reflect the intention of the word document

• Are there mistakes, spelling etc• Are there questions asked that shouldn’t be -

relevant

Cleaning up phones

• Remove the old tasks– From fieldTask

• Menu > “Refresh Task List”

• Delete results /data from the phone after they have been uploaded– From fieldTask

• Menu > “Delete Forms”
