“W0W! GREAT! COOl! BEAUTIFUL! YOURS SHOULD WIN FIRST PLACE!” are just a few of the comments/compliments heard by the first graders during the float parade. Thank you for

making each student feel that they had the best float in the world. What a positive memory they will have because of this school community.

Teachers, parents, and students have made our Change for Change drive a great success, raising a lot of money

to help provide people with safe, clean water. Our last change

collection will take place on Monday, April 25th. Please try to make this last

week count by collecting as much change as you can to support our service project. Remember, every penny counts, and if we all work

together we will have another large collection. If you prefer, you may

First graders in Mrs. Allen’s class work on figuring out the patterns of their group members. The C Scope lesson provided a chance to create a repeating or additive pattern

and had others identify it! Way to go group!

Stacey Profile of Vicky Valencia By: Cordia Harvatin

1. How long have you lived in San Antonio? 23 years 2. Is Cordia Harvatin, your favorite student? I try not to use the word “favorite” too often. I feel that all students are special in one way or another, but I do have a lot of wonderful things to say about Cordia. She is not only smart, intelligent, a great basketball player, but she is a very respectful and courteous young lady and that means so much to me. 3. If you could have anything you wanted for supper, what would be on the menu? Meat Loaf Mashed Potatoes Green Beans Garden Salad w/ 1000 Island 4. What is one of the most creative things you’ve ever done? ...one of the most silly things? Mixed hair color and achieved the perfect color. Mixed hair color and created an outrageous color. 5. If you could go anywhere on earth for a two-week vacation, where would you go? Why? I don‘t have to go too far. A 2 week vacation in a beautiful room all by myself, with plenty of books to read (so I can visit the world), watch TV, and be able to order gourmet food. 6. What one day in your life would you like to live over? The birth of my son. 7. What hobbies, sports, or other leisure time activities do you enjoy most? Not to sound repetitious, but I enjoy reading because that gives me the ability to visit the world and learn at my own pace. 8. What is the best piece of advice you have ever received? The best advice came from my mother whom I loved very much and had a wonderful relationship with. She would always tell us “if you are so blessed to wake up in the morning you should smile all day because it is no one fault if there should be something in your life that is just not right. 9. Where are you from, and what are one or two things you like about it? I was born and raised in Uvalde, but I consider myself a city girl (San Antonio). I am sorry to say but I can’t think of one. 10. What is one thing about you that you have not shared yet that others would find interesting? I am a very proud mother, and I was so blessed the day I was chosen to help raise this wonderful young man.
