What is ‘Education Studies’?
What is the pattern of study?
• The programme is modular
• In the 1st year everybody will do 2 subjects
• A typical programme is: 12 hrs contact p/w in Y1• In each year there are
core and compulsory and optional modules– this gives you flexibility and choice

• There are range of optional modules – this gives you flexibility and choice

Placement Opportunities
No matter which pathway you choose you will be offered opportunities to take part in work placements throughout your degree.
• Many of the modules offered in Y1, 2 and 3 include compulsory placement opportunities.

• A core module which includes placement in a school or other setting• Your award specific module with additional professional focus• You could:

School of Education International Study Bursary
• If you are in receipt of a BSU bursary or Disabled Student Allowance will also be eligible to receive a School of Education International Study Bursary.
• The bursary is to contribute to travel and living expenses of students undertaking an optional study visit as part of one of our international education modules.
• The bursary would be in the region of £100-£500 per student. Further details will be available when you start your degree.
