“Education helps us to be more civilized and equips us with an ability to inspire
others. Thus, spreading One Happiness”
The best time to shape a mentality is the adolescent time. Every child has a novel
strength and personality which demands special care and supporting environment to
blossom and thrive. Parents, keeping in mind the outstanding traits of their children,
must sustain them in every imaginable way.
In our schools, September was a month of celebration. Our young learners marked
the Navratri festival with immense joy. Our educators inculcated student with the
cultural values of this festival. Along with Navratri, it was amazing to see our schools
organizing highly creative workshops such as ornament making and soap making
which proffered students with an interactive hands-on experience of the art.
It was absolutely delightful seeing our responsible young ones from Gajera schools
volunteering to take part in the GAVIER LAKE clean-up drive that was carried out in
association with Nature Club. We positively wish more and more students volunteer
for this kind of environment-friendly programs. At the end of the month, schools also
prepared for the Vijayadashami celebrations on 30th September to celebrate
Dussehra, the festival of righteousness.
The coming month will be a beginning of a new year for us. Let’s seize every
opportunity it brings to us and lead towards excellence! We wish you all a prosperous
Diwali and a happy new year in advance.

“Children must be taught how to think, not what to think”……
Keeping the above lines of Margaret Mead in mind our aim at LGS is to impart
Knowledge, Imagination and Innovation in a holistic approach. We are
continually striving to give the best education to our students. For us, students'
needs are a priority and traditional as well as modern educational values are
respected and encouraged to coexist.
The CIE curriculum that we follow enables the students to attain knowledge,
understand the concepts in depth, high order thinking and problem-solving abilities.
We understand the importance of teachers and parents communication. We
continually improve the quality of tools of communication, including giving our
parents access to an interactive website and Face Book pages where they can get
the information about the activities happening in the school.

Exam Time
Examinations are the
way to test our
knowledge. Without
conducting
the exams and test
students don't
concentrate in their
studies and learn their
lessons properly.
Exams are important because they compel students to learn. Without them most students would not
learn. They would learn only subjects in which they are interested and ignore the other subjects
which are thought to be difficult, though they are very important in the modern age.
The Mid Term Exams
commenced at LGS from
11th September to 22nd
September. To many
students, exams are the
frightening devastator of
school joy. However,
they're also
very important and
interesting.

the day by making crafts on pumpkins and a tiger’s face creatively. They ended the day enjoying

Celebrations
Navratri
Navratri is an auspicious Hindu festival celebrated all around the globe but holds utmost importance
for the Gujarati and Bengali communities in India. Goddess Durga is worshipped with great
devotion and faith during the festival. The term itself means ‘nine nights’ and during these nine
days and nights ‘nine forms’ of Goddess Shakti are worshipped. Navratri symbolises victory over
evil.
Gujarat's Navratri Festival, is “a circle of ecstasy” that throbs non-stop for nine nights with millions
of fantastically costumed devotees swaying in a fusion of dance and devotion. The significance of
Navratri is offering devotion to Goddess Amba (Durga), who is believed to exist in many forms.
The best part about this festival is the traditional dance form of Dandiya and GarbaRaas.
LGS celebrated Navratri on September 28, 2017 on the school grounds, with great joy and
vigour. Students and teachers came in traditional dresses. It was a colourful show with teachers
joining the students enthusiastically in their dance.

Grandparents Day
Grandparents play an imperative role in the life of every child. They are the child’s support and their best friend. Grandparents pamper the kids more than the parents themselves and leave a lasting
impression in child’s life. So it was the time to felicitate and honour the grandparents by making them an important part of the Navratri Celebration.
To celebrate this beautiful relationship Grand Parents Day was celebrated at Laxmi Global School
on 28th September, 2017. It was a special day for all those who attended the programme and for us,
as it gave us a chance to interact with an age group that is most often, overlooked.
Everyone seemed truly happy. It was a very successful event, indeed, and we look forward to many
more.

Teacher’s Day
‘‘Teachers – the silent warriors who make the world a better place"
The teaching profession isn’t an easy one. It takes an undying passion to trudge through gloomy
days made worse by brats, unruly students and a lot of the other downsides of being a teacher.
Teachers are those important pillars of a student's life without whom life's journey would be a lot more difficult. Right from our childhood till our college days and even beyond, our mentors/teachers guide us as to how we should move towards our goal. They teach us how to read and write and most importantly they prepare us for a world that is not easy to handle. Like our parents, our teachers too help us prepare ourselves to face the outside world. Teachers inspire us to dream and encourage us to strive hard to achieve our goals and all of this without a selfish motive. Certainly there can be no better profession than this which educates, informs, prepares, inspires,
encourages and at the same time also teaches us to inculcate a way of life that is for our betterment.
We salute all the teachers who give their time and energy to make our lives a little more beautiful, a
little more meaningful.
Teacher’s Day was celebrated on 5th September 2017 as a mark of tribute to the contribution made
by teachers to the society. The students presented a beautiful skit. Variety of games was played by
the teachers and a token of love and appreciation was gifted to all the teachers. The celebration was
a great fun.

Tips to decorating the house for Diwali
The festival of lights, Diwali is just around the corner, and it's
about time to get into the mood for preparing the house for this
festive season. One of the best things about festivities is
actually the anticipation, excitement, and the preparation that
goes with it. Decorating the house for Diwali is a family affair
which brings everyone together in good spirits to start
energizing the house with positive vibes. So let's start getting
excited from the anticipation of celebrating this wonderful
festival of lights called Diwali by finding ideas and inspiration
to decorate the house.
1. Light up the garden - Lighting up the garden will give the whole house a welcoming glow
too. Traditionally, for Diwali, diyas or oil lamps are usually used to line the path of the
entrance to the house. You can also use candles or battery charged lamps, electrical lamps,
and solar powered lamps.
2. Grand lighting for the living room- Grand lighting such as this charming chandelier hanging
from the ceiling together with the ones on the walls create a festive ambiance in the living
room. The elegant chandeliers light up the whole living room with an air of sophistication
and celebration.
3. Add traditional Indian décor - Traditional Indian decor creates the suitable vibe for one of
the major festivals in India. The antique brass turtle oil lamps pictured here is a great way to
add something authentically Indian to your home this Diwali.
4. Decorate with colourful cushions - Another simple yet effective way of decorating the house
for Diwali is to throw in a few colourful cushions in. This will add a splash of color to liven
up the house and set a cheerful mood for the occasion. It will also keep guests comfy.
5. Beautify with flowers - A simple and age old way of beautifying the house is with flowers.
Flowers create a positive vibe in the house whether they are fake or real. Flowers together
with an elegant vase can make a world of difference in enhancing the beauty of a space.
6. Make the house smell good - Finally, make the house
smell good with aromatherapy candles, incense, room sprays,
and diffusers. Smell has a very strong link to memory, so
create good, strong memories this Diwali with scented candles
and a range of other fragrances.
7. Prepare the pooja room - Preparing the pooja room is
an important part of anticipating the festival of Diwali. Give
your pooja room or pooja area a fresh look this Diwali by
adding contemporary lights and a splash of colour with wall
stickers. Of course don't forget fresh flowers and oil lamps for the pooja room.
