The Community College wasestablished in 1968 by an Act ofParliament – the BarbadosCommunity College Act, 1968-23.This Act was amended in 1990 toempower the College to grantDegrees, Associate Degrees,Diplomas and Certificates to studentswho successfully complete approvedprogrammes of organized study.
The College provides education and training for Barbadians whoon graduation, are able to make contributions to the economicand social development of their country. The College also pro-vides opportunities for nationals of other countries, especiallythose in the Caribbean, to receive similar education and training.

THE INDUSTRYSERVICES UNIT
The Barbados Community College (BCC) Industry Services Unit(ISU) was established to assist business and industry in prepar-ing a well-trained cadre of employees. With BCC’s proven trackrecord in programme development and delivery, along with overforty (40) years of experience, the ISU is assured of the expertiseto develop and deliver training which is of a high standard.
The primary focus of the ISU is to meet the needs of industrythrough innovative, customised training and services on a fee-for-service basis. We proactively determine needs for training, seekout interested parties in government, industry and the communityand provide training in the areas identified.
