As an executive chairman of Nepal Engineering College (nec), I feel great pleasure to welcome you all at this popular institution established in 1994 as the 1st Engineering college in the private sector of Nepal. The purpose of establishing this institution was to fulfill the country’s demand to provide engineers, managers and other skilled manpower required for the development of the country. Seven distinguished academicians, managers and industrialists founded this Nepal Engineering College popularly known as nec for overall development of the society. Since last 23 years, students from almost all districts of Nepal have graduated from this college. Quality, competence and excellence is the main motto of the college. More than eight thousand students have graduated in B. Architecture, B.E. Civil, B.E. Civil and Rural, B.E. Computer Science and Engineering, B.E. Electrical and Electronics, B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering and B.E. Civil for diploma holders programs. Also more than one thousand two hundred students have passed master degree courses in different programs namely M.Sc. Construction Management, M.Sc. Transportation Engineering and Management, M.Sc. Natural Resource Management and M.Sc. Interdisciplinary Water Resource Management. At present students graduated from this college are working in Nepal, in government/semi-government organizations and private sectors. Some of them have their own company. Several nec graduates are also working in many foreign countries. nec also provides non-credit courses (not prescribed in the syllabus) to our students to fulfill

the industry demand and to enhance the professional knowledge of our students to make them more competitive in the national and international job market. Several measures have been taken to guarantee the quality education. Almost all the teachers are full time faculty members to increase the contact hours of the students. Class teacher counsellors have been appointed for each class to guide and control the presence of each student in class and also to inform the parents/guardians about the activities of their wards.

After the devastating earthquake of April 25, 2015 several class rooms and other infrastructure were damaged. At present all earthquake affected class rooms, buildings are fully repaired. New buildings were built to meet the students’ educational needs.

Finally, I would like to thank all the students and their guardians, faculty & staff members for their great support to nec. I would also like to thank all the founder members for their guidance, suggestions and cooperation in the smooth running of the college.

I feel great pleasure to serve as the Principal of Nepal Engineering College (nec).

Our nec students know very well that while the College consistently pursues “student first” policy, discipline in the college is a basic requirement for all academic and administrative activities.

There has been a rapid growth in the science, technology, new developments and applications in the field of engineering and management.

In order to keep up with the requirement of increased number of manpower to meet the demands of development projects in the country and abroad, Nepal Engineering College (nec) always wishes to produce well trained manpower to meet the requirements of industries. Nepal Engineering College (nec) established in 1994 as the first engineering college in the private sector in Nepal now competes with more than 55 engineering colleges spread all over the country and affiliated to six different Universities. There is healthy and competitive environment in the field of engineering education. nec always works and is committed to quality and excellence in engineering education.

To monitor students presence in the class, their other educational activities, overall performance of the students, communication with their parents/ guardians, college management has introduced strict counselling process. This counselling system guarantees and monitors occurrence of theory classes and lab works, students performance. This has helped increase and support quality engineering education. nec also provides and educates its students in some non-credit courses (not mentioned in the syllabus) which are extremely useful and demanded by concerned industries.

This further helps nec graduates to compete in the national and international job market.

Nepal Engineering College (nec) has all full time experienced faculties and fully equipped labs. 20% seats are reserved for qualified female students. nec also provides lot of scholarships to deserving students. 528 students are admitted in seven bachelor level engineering courses and 150 students are admitted in four Master degree courses each year. More than 8000 students have graduated till now and they are working all over the world. We feel proud to witness our graduates working in different responsible positions.

I would like to thank executive chairman and other founder board members of Nepal Engineering College for their guidance for smooth running of the college. I would also like to thank all the nec students, faculties, staff members and local communities for supporting and helping nec to enhance quality engineering education.

It was established in 1994 by a group of visionary Nepalese eminent professionals, academicians, managers and industrialists who realized the need of an institution serving the higher educational needs in engineering, technology and management reaching out to a wider section of Nepalese youths and making quality education accessible and affordable. Their aim was to produce technically competent engineering graduates ready to contribute in the accelerated social and economic growth of the country. This pioneering example set by nec led to the establishment of a number of engineering colleges in the country in the private sector in later years. nec is committed to retaining its long earned reputation as ‘an institution with concerns for quality education and academic freedom’, again an example set by it for others to follow.

Since its establishment, nec is engaged in designing, upgrading and standardizing academic curriculum and its delivery at Bachelor and Masters level courses in engineering, technology and allied disciplines. nec intends to continue with this initiative, offering more innovative and applied courses in the established and emerging areas in the days

Resources Management (IWRM) and Transportation Engineering and Management (TEAM). B.E. Civil for Diploma Holders course is organized at nec-BDH at Mahalaxmisthan in Lalitpur and all the Postgraduate courses are organized at nec Center for Postgraduate Studies (nec-CPS) located at Prayag Pokhari, Lagankhel, Lalitpur. From 2017 Academic session, classes will be held at specified locations anywhere in Kathmandu Valley.

Initiated with limited physical and instructional resources, nec has now grown in to an institution with its learning resources comparable to any institution of repute in the country and in the region. nec hosts international chapter of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) in Nepal, a professional body established for standardization of academic curricula and its delivery, crucial for quality education in engineering and technology. nec is also an institutional member of ISTE.

International linkages

Promoting Energy Efficient Lighting Education in Nepal and Bhutan (ELNAB)

This project “Promoting Energy Efficient Lighting Education in Nepal and Bhutan (ELNAB)”, agreement no 2016-2975/001-401 co-funded by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of the European Commission (EC) belongs to the Erasmus + Program for the action Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE). This action aims to support the modernization, accessibility and Internationalization of higher education in the Partner Countries to con-tribute to the development of sustainable and inclusive socio-economic growth. The project aims to assist Nepal and Bhutan to reduce electricity consumption as well as greenhouse gas emissions through capacity building of human resources in the fields of energy efficient lighting systems.

Participation in national Disaster recoverynec did active participation in the recovery and help camps distributing tents and working together with the Government Authorities and NGOs after the devastating earthquake of april 25, 2015. We also encourage our students to participate in reconstruction and rehabilitation programs.

B.E. Civil, B.E. Civil & Rural and B. Architecture final year students participated in 1 month reconstruction & rehabilitation program for 2015 Earth quake victims in the districts of Sindhupalchowk and Dolakha between 17th Feb 2017 to 26th March 2017, the program was formally organised by Pokhara University, Nepal Engineers Association and National Reconstruction Authority, Nepal.

Being Relevant to the Societynec is continually engaged in promotional and development activities in the neighboring communities of Changunarayan Municipality of Bhaktapur and Kageshwori Manohara Municipality of Kathmandu as a part of its corporate social responsibility. This engagement has been mutually rewarding for nec as well as the communities in the vicinity.

International Research Awards & Academic Enrichment

iWRM program, has currently been supported by International Development and Research Center (IDRC) Canada and executed by South Asia Consortium for Interdisciplinary Water Resources Studies (SaciWATERs) in four academic institutions of South Asian Countries including nec. The aim of the project is to generate a critical mass of water professionals trained in inter-disciplinary perspective in South Asia capable of solving real-life problems and water issues. The program aims to producing water professionals with interdisciplinary skills and capacity to respond to established and emerging challenges in water resources management. The project has been offering five fellowships mainly to women water professionals, to redeem the gender balance in water-related research, jobs and policy in the South Asian region. 20% of the scholarships are given to deserving male students from lower socio-economic strata.

Completed Projects:

Peri-Urban Water Security Project (2010-2013)Nepal Engineering College, in partnership with some regional institutions, has completed an action research entitled Water Security emerging from urbanization and climate change in peri-urban areas of three South Asian countries. In Nepal, the study was undertaken at four peri-urban villages in Kathmandu valley namely,DadhikotandJhaukhelinBhaktapur,LubhuinLalitpurand Matatirtha in Kathmandu district. A total of six students were provided internship to carry out research in the relevant field.

Crossing Boundaries (CB) Project (2007-2011)Under the Funding of DGIS of the Government of Netherlands for Regional Capacity Building on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and Gender and Water in South Asia, from July2007-December,2011.

Under this Project, out of 45 graduates, a total of 30 iWRM graduates have been generated, currently working in various organizations (both Government and Non-Government). More than 50 water professionals have been provided with advanced training on Integrated Water Resources Management, Interdisciplinary Field Research Methodology, Integrated Water Supply and Sanitation, Water and Gender, Water and Climate Change. A total of 45 M.Sc. thesis and many papers of the students were presented and published in proceedings and journals.

ADB Special Study Award on “Enhancing Productivity in Irrigated Agriculture through Multifunctional Water Users’ Association, awarded by Asian Development Bank (ADB), Manila (completed in 2009)

Safe Drinking Water Project under the grant support of Development Partnership for Higher Education (DelPHE) Program of DFID of British Government, undertaken over 2007-2010 in partnership with Imperial College, London & Preston University, Pakistan.

Mondialogo Engineering Award to study earthquake resistant adobe structures in Nepal in collaboration with Khowpa Engineering College, University of Tokyo and IIT Bombay (completed in 2008).

Ongoing Projects:

On going International Research Project at necnec is part of an international consortium of academic and researchinstitutesinvolvedintheUK’sDFIDfunded4-year(Jan2014-Dec 2017) research project on “Hydropower development in the context of climate change: Exploring conflicts and fostering cooperation across scales and boundaries in the Eastern Himalayas”, through a Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NOW/WOTRO) program of Conflict and Cooperation in the Management of Climate Change (CCMCC) grant of the Netherlands. The other partners of this research project are International Rivers (US), University of East Anglia (UK), Boðaziçi University (Turkey), University of California (USA), Nepal Water Conservation Foundation (Nepal), International Water Management Institute-Nepal, Sikkim University, North Bengal University, Forum for Policy Dialogue on Water Conflicts in India, Aaranyak, and the Advanced Centre for Water Resources Development and Management (ACWADAM) in India. The study is focussed on the bio-diverse region of the Eastern Himalayas as it is vulnerable to climate change, and the target of ambitious hydropower development plans.

This research project sets out to explore how the impacts of hydropower development will intersect with the effects of climate change. One of the two research sites is located in the Tamor River valley of eastern Nepal, and as such nec is expected to play a central role in the collection and analysis of data for this project.

IDRC SAWA Fellowship ProjectA four year long project, IDRC SAWA Fellowship (2013-2016) in continuation to earlier Crossing Boundaries (CB) Project for

• nec has participated at CoCooN-CCMCC Exchange Workshop (Nov 27, 2015) and put up posters on developments up to this point on “Nepal’s International Research Project related to Hydropower Development in Eastern Himalayas” was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of the government of the Netherlands, at Hagueinn which nec, Wageningen University, Univ. of East Anglia, NWCF, and Sikkim University, AQUADAM, and SOPPECOM of India are the project partners.

Executive Chairman Lambodar Neupane and Associate Professor and Head, Durgaprasad Bhandari, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, nec attended the meeting in Greece.

Each partner of the project presented the overall ELNAB status, Work Package Progress, achievements & outlook. Further planning of work of work for next six months for each WP had been prepared in the meeting.

Research & Consultancynec Research and Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., an independent sister organization within nec umbrella, has been offering consultancy services to clients on request. The areas of engagement of nec Research and Consultancy services have been in design, development and construction supervision of infrastructure development works relating to public and private buildings, water supply, irrigation, road, bridges, sanitation and waste management. Librarynec library provides the ambience of learning for the students and faculty. There is collection of more than 35000 books and references in wide ranging subjects in engineering, technology, basic and applied sciences, social sciences, language and culture. The library has been essentially serving nec students and faculty and also professionals and researchers from outside. The computerized catalogue system allows easy retrieval of text books and other references.

Information Communication and Technology (ICT) CenterICT center consists of hardware and software facilities needed for information and communication. These include computer and network hardware, communication middleware as well as necessary software. The Windows and Linux based Computer Laboratories, seven in number, are managed by the ICT center which provide opportunity for the students to experiment with readymade software and developing their own software during and after the class hours. The students can access the information through unlimited internet access and Wi-Fi connectivity within the nec premises.

SWECAD: Student Welfare and Extra Curricular Activities Division

The SWECAD emphasizes nurturing of the “whole student” – socially responsible, emotionally matured, intellectually capable, and spiritually sound. This spirit has helped the students in their overall development, to make them ready to accept the challenges in their professional career. In order to achieve this, SWECAD organizes a number of creative, co-curricular and personality development activities. SWECAD monitors the progress of the students and extends needed emotional and moral support. SWECAD is headed by a senior faculty, who coordinates the activities on a regular basis.

Students’ guardians are regularly informed of the progress of their wards on all activities including academic performance in each semester/trimester by a teaching faculty counsellor.

International Programs Office

The International Programs Office (IPO) at nec works in establishing relationship and networking with the universities, research organizations and other relevant agencies in different parts of the world. The IPO also counsels the students in their pursuit of seeking academic advancement in the universities and institutions outside the country.

Training and Placement Cell

A Training and Placement Cell has been instituted in the college to support the training and placement needs of the students. The cell seeks to promote placement opportunities for nec graduates by maintaining linkages with the potential

employers, keeping the students informed of placement opportunities and organizing on-campus interviews on request of the employers. Besides the placement services, the cell also helps the students find suitable industries/institutions to avail internship opportunities and apprentice.

Allied Services

Students’ UnionStudents’ Union (SU) has been constituted with the objective of promoting students’ participation in academics and co-curricular activities. SU provides a forum for the students to interact with fellow students coming from different parts of the country with diverse social and cultural backgrounds and helps them manage their scholastic persuit actively. SU also provides feedbacks to the college management on academic issues as and when needed.

Transportation Facility

A fleet of buses managed by the college provides transportation to the students, faculty and staff. The buses operate from designated locations along prescribed routes, covering major locations of student cocentration in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Kavre. Students are required to obtain a bus pass, upon payment of the prescribed fees to use the college buses for daily commuting.

Co-curricular Activities

Games/SportsThe college encourages students to participate in sports, athletics and other co-curricular activities on nec holidays. Sports activities is strictly prohibited on college days. The facilities for outdoor sports include volleyball and basketball courts and a large football ground maintained within the college premises.

Site Visits and Study ToursThe college arranges at least one site visit or study tour for each batch of students that covers visit to relevant industries, institutions and construction projects, settlement study, directly complementing the learning of the students persuing B.Arch. is part of the curriculum. A survey camp of ten days is organized for the third year students of B. E. (Civil and Civil & Rural) and B. E. Civil for Diploma Holders. Two weeks educational exposure tour (NASA) to India is organized for the third year students of architecture.

Bachelor Level ProgramsCivil Engineeringnec has been offering Bachelor program in Civil Engineering since 1994. The objective of the course is to train qualified Civil engineers to deal with design, construction, operation and maintenance of physical infrastructure and services. The students opting for this course undergo theoretical and practical learning in the areas of material engineering, structural engineering, environmental engineering, transportation engineering, water resources engineering, geotechnical engineering and surveying, so that they systematically develop theoritical learning and needed analytical and hands-on skill to deal with, and cater to, wide ranging infrastructure development tasks.

The following Bachelor level programs are currently underway at nec:

construction and conservation of urban spaces and built forms. The program has been designed to meet international standards in Architecture education, preparing the students to become competent professionals for work in Nepal and abroad. The students have the opportunity to gain competence in both hand-drawing and computer graphics to enable them to excel in the competitive professional environment. A full semester of apprentice in an architect’s office helps prepare them to tackle professional challenges before graduation. The final semester is dedicated to a thesis project wherein the students are expected to accomplish an architectural design project independently.

Computer Science & EngineeringRapid development in microelectronics and computer science has created the need for specialized manpower who could fuse these two cutting-edge technologies. This fusion of knowledge and technology has led to the evolution of a highly specialized professional field in Computer Engineering. Computer Engineers have wide ranging career options in business, industries, production and service sectors and in IT-industries.

B.E. in Automobile EngineeringBachelor in Automobile Engineering course is a four-year program that deals with the design, R&D, manufacture, operation and maintenance of ground based vehicles such as motorcycles, cars, trucks. This course also enables students to deal with hybrid and electrical vehicles, aerodynamics of vehicles and the advanced materials required during vehicle manufacturing. nec Center for Postgraduate Studies (nec CPS)All the postgraduate courses are organised at the Center for Postgraduate Studies (nec-CPS) located at Prayag Pokhari, Lagankhel, Lalitpur.

The formation of nec Center for Postgraduate Studies (nec CPS in 2009 was a significant milestone and commitment of nec towards vertical growth of its educational agenda. Four postgraduate courses leading to M.Sc. Sc. in NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT (NRM)The program focuses on the importance of sustainable management of natural resources and also emphasizes on the connection and the ability to communicate between different disciplines and actors. This is designed for those who wish to develop their career in the areas of conservation and management of natural resources. Upon completion of the program the graduates qualify for wide ranging administrative and technical positions with the government agencies and non-governmental organization engaged in forest management, watershed management, water resource management, urban and rural planning. It aims to produce graduates with adequate knowledge and skills to be competent natural resources managers, executives or entrepreneurs capable of becoming change agents in the corporate and social field.

M. Sc. in TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT (TEAM)The concept of global village was realized mainly due to efficient transport facilities. Natural endowment of resources and competitive advantage of locations prompt increased volume of transport both of people and goods. Each nation, including Nepal, is investing heavily to connect inaccessible areas to the national transport networks. Yet, everyday movement in urban centers is hampered by congestion, insufficiency of

Proposed Master Level ProgramsM.Sc. in Natural Disaster Risk ManagementNepal faces multitudes of natural and human induced disasters that result in the loss of lives and properties worth millions of rupees annually. Disaster risks and the resulting damages can be minimized with preparedness to manage the disasters. Realizing the importance of education, research and knowledge dissemination in the area of disaster management, nec has taken the lead in proposing to commence Masters program in Natural Disaster Risk Management. Initiatives are underway at nec to develop instructional resources so that the course can be started shortly.

M.Sc. in Computer Science and EngineeringMaster of Computer Science and Engineering program exposes students to a wide range of courses, combined with specialized research work which culminates in a thesis. This combination of courses gives students the required depth necessary for pursuing careers in academics, research and in the industry related to IT and computing. This course provides the opportunity of higher education in the field of computer engineering in the country.

M.Sc. in Hydropower EngineeringThe development of hydropower in Nepal has been rising significantly in present days as the increasing demand of electricity and establishment of new power plants to meet the lighting facilities and basic energy requirements for household as well as in meeting energy demand at the national level. In addition to the larger national projects, many small scale and rural community based hydels have emerged as a boom in terms of rural electrification. The degree programme, M.Sc. in hydropower engineering will play a vital role to integrate with

economic, financial, social, environmental and management disciplines and develop international level competence resources.

M.Sc. in Structural EngineeringStructural engineering is the science and art of designing, analyzing and constructing buildings, bridges and other structures to safely resist various forces and conditions. Through analysis and testing of structures and their components, structural engineers advance the understanding of structural response to seismic, wind, gravity and other loads, to design more functional and economical structures. Structural engineering overlaps strongly with structural mechanics, which focuses on the application of fundamental concepts in solid mechanics to problems in structural engineering, and especially on the mathematical modeling of the behavior of both traditional and advanced structural materials.

M.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics EngineeringThere has been a significant progress in the field of energy and power sector during the past few decades in Nepal. This has created a need of highly skilled personnel in the sector of power system, electricity market, industrial development, renewable energy and smart grid. M. Sc. program in Electrical and electronics engineering intends to produce graduates who can contribute to the nation in the aforementioned sectors.

Research Management Cell (RMC) RMC organizes, coordinates and consolidates faculty and students’ research activities in the center. A Research Committee has been constituted to function as an independent apex policy advisory body. RMC functions as the secretariat of the Research Committee through a full time Research Coordinator.

Doctoral ProgramsThere is a great dearth of research manpower in the educational institutions and research organizations, especially in the areas of science and technology. Realizing this need, and with the experience of nec in offering Masters’ level courses for more than 16 years now, nec has proposed to start Doctoral level courses leading to Ph.D. degree. To begin with, the Doctoral programs in two areas- Natural Resources Management and Construction Management, have been proposed. The preparations are underway at nec to start the program subjected to the permission from Pokhara University.

ACADEMIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree having a minimum of 15 years of education with minimum second division is necessary to apply for the courses. Bachelor degree holders in selected field of engineering for CM; civil engineering for TEAM; engineering, basic/applied/ natural sciences for iWRM and NRM are eligible to apply.

The duration of all M.Sc. programs is two years spread over four semesters; inclusion fourth semester for the thesis writing. Of the total academic credit, the course work involves 45 credits and 15 credit hours are dedicated for an independent research on field based problems. All the courses have to be completed within 4 years, and additional one year can be given to thesis work.

ACADEMIC INFORMATIONSemester System & Course RegistrationSemester/Trimester system is followed in the instruction and evaluation of all the Bachelor and Masters level programs underway at nec. One semester normally spans over sixteen weeks and one trimester normally spans over eleven or twelve weeks. The Bachelor level programs generally extends over 8 semesters or 12 trimesters and B. Architecture which extends up to 10 semesters or 15 trimesters, while Masters’ level courses can be completed in a minimum of 4 semesters or 6 trimesters. The students are required to register the courses at the beginning of the semester/trimester. The academic records are maintained based on the number of courses registered by the student in each semester/trimester.

Evaluation SystemThe Credit SystemEach subject carries an academic credit based on instructional needs in theory, practical and tutorial classes. One credit normally means one hour of teaching in theory classes per week.

Student EvaluationAt the Bachelor level, the academic performance of the student is evaluated based on continuous internal assessment and end of semester/trimester examination conducted by Phokhara University. The scores in the internal evaluation (50%) and semester/trimester examination (50%) are added up to determine the total score obtained by the student in each subject, which is then translated into grade in each subject. To pass a subject, a student must obtain a minimum of 45% marks

in the internal and end of semester/trimester examinations, separately. At the Masters’ level the internal evaluation carries 60% of weightage while the semester/trimester examination is for the remainder 40%. To pass a subject at the Masters’ level a student must obtain 60% marks in internal evaluation and semester/trimester examinations, separately.

Grading SystemThe grade awarded to a student in a subject is based on the students’ aggregated performance in the internal and end of semester/trimester examinations. Phokhara University follows relative grading based on 4.0 point scale, as stated hereunder:

In some cases a student is awarded a grade I (incomplete) when he/she fails to complete assignments or project work on time. This may be converted to the relevant grades upon completion of the needed requirements in the following semester/trimester. The failure to do so would automatically lead to awarding F (Fail) grade.

Attendance RequirementsThe students are expected to attend all lectures, tutorials and practical classes. A minimum of 80% attendance of the student in all the lecture, tutorial and practical classes is the scholastic requirement in each subject, Failure to achieve required attendance in any of the subject may result in non-qualification to take the semester/trimester examination in that particular subject .

Girls’ Hostel Expenses

The cost of a double occupancy accommodation, inclusive of room rent, water and sanitation, is Rs. 9,000.00 plus Rs. 100.00 towards admission (sub-total Rs. 9100.00) per student per semester. In addition the student has to pay security deposit (refundable) of Rs. 2600.00 at the time of admission. The actual cost of electricity is payable each month by the students. Students are provided a cot, a cupboard and one set of study table and chair. They need to bring mattresses, quilts/blankets, bed linen and pillow cover and other clothing on their own.

The average cost of Nepali food (two meals a day) served in the cafeteria generally amounts to an average of Rs. 4,000.00 per month.

Transportation Cost

Students intending to use the college transport must buy a semester bus pass upon payment of Rs. 8,000.00. The bus pass must be availed within two weeks of date of commencement of regular classes in each semester.

Rules applicable for Payment of Fees

The general rules applicable for the payment of fees are as under:i. The stated fee structure is applicable for the intake of academic year 2017-2018. All

fees are subject to changes without prior notice.ii. Fees once paid are non-refundable, except the refundable deposits and the tuition

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCEScholarships and Awardsnec offers full scholarship to 10% students as referred by Pokhara University. Such scholarship includes waiver of all fees (except the expenses towards Surveying and Geology Camps). This scholarship will be provided only as per Pokhara University rules and regulations.

Freeships and Partial Scholarships The college offers additional seven (7) freeships to the students recommended by the Founder members.

Local Community and Neighborhood Scholarship nec offers full freeships to five students in B.E. Electronics & Communication Engineering Program and B.E. Computer Engineering program one each from old Changunarayan, Duwakot, JhaukhelVDCs (nowunderChangunarayanmunicipality) and old Mulpani, Danchhi VDCs (now under Kageshwari Manohara municipality). Freeships include full waiver of all the college fees but students are required to pay registration fee, affiliation fee and other direct costs totaling Rs. 14000/- per year. The college also provides 50% waiver of the tuition fee scholarship only to two students each from above mentioned old VDCs or present Changunarayan & Kageshswari Manohara municipalities in above engineering programs including Civil based on merit list of nec Entrance-2017.

nec Entrance Test (nET-2017) Topper Scholarship nec offers full waiver of tuition fee to the topper of nec Entrance Test- 2017

nec also provides 50%, 35% and 15% waiver of the tuition fee scholarship to the students securing 80% and above, 70% to 79% and 60% to 69% marks in the nec Entrance Test-2017 respectively. Students securing less than 60% marks in the nec Entrance Test-2017 will not get any scholarship in this category.

Merit Scholarshipnec awards one merit scholarship to faculty topper students for every 48 students in each program in a semester. The scholarship covers full waiver of tution fees. The topper of the 1st semester will get the scholarship in the second semester, the topper of the second semester will get this scholarship in the third semester and so on. The topper of the last semester will not get any scholarship as he/she will have graduated before the announcement of the result of the last semester. The decision for the award of merit scholarship is made after the final verification of the results.

DISCIPLINARY CODEStudents’ ResponsibilityStudents admitted to the college are expected to adhere to the disciplinary code of conduct prescribed by the college, as stated hereunder:i. The students must fulfil the obligation to discharge their duties
