What do you want from a job ?
SE
Is it a calling? A way of viewing all you do ? Can it be for a season?
Can you combine lots of things and still call yourself a Social Entreprenuer ?
Social entrepreneurs are individuals with innovative solutions to society's most pressing social problems.
They are ambitious and persistent, tackling major social issues and offering new ideas for wide-scale change.
But this is Personal
Someone who works in an entrepreneurial manner, but for public or social benefit rather than to make money.
It can be • very hard • lonely • scary • and you will fall and make mistakes, but.... the view from the top is amazing !

"Social entrepreneurs are not content just to give a fish or teach how to fish.
They will not rest until they have revolutionized the fishing industry.”

WHAT ARE YOUR 3 TOP TIPS TO SHARE TO EVERYONE
Role Play
You are to be interviewed by your bank manager for a loan of 100,000 rupees for your social Enterprise plan – are you able to answer the questions ?
• We need a volunteer for the bank manager, and the social Entrepreneur
• The rest of the group – listen very carefully – what questions do you think the bank manager will ask ?
• Will the Social Entrepreneur be ready ?
• If you were the bank manager would you give them a loan?
How do we fund a social enterprise?
• Turn to your neighbour and come up with 3 different ways in which you can raise money.
• What are the + and the – of each way ?
• What would you find the easiest and the most challenging ?
A final P = Professionalism
As you plan your Social Enterprise you will need
A clear business plan A clear fundraising and income generation
programme A cash flow and risk analysis An appropriate structure and governance A board of directors, trustees or advisors A system of being accountable, transparent and
ethical in all you do !
But that’s the next workshop ...
Is there a culture of ‘fear of failure’ in India ?
“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might has well not have lived at all, in which case you have failed by default”.
