12 years......a Festival!
2016 marks a dozen years of growing, tweaking and striving by our committee to bring the best artists, musicians and performers to Carrick-on-Shannon. Crossing all genres and tastes from Ragtime to Revolution, Baroque to Broadway, Weaving to Workshops, Film to Family Fun, Opera to World Class Piano Recitals! And if none of the above grabs you why not combine the ancient practice of Yoga accompanied by soothing sounds while floating on a Stand Up Paddle Board - it’s not called the Water Music Festival for nothing!
With great interest in this year’s events, be sure to book your tickets in-good time with our Festival partner The Dock.
Tickets can be booked in person, by phone +353 71 9650828 or online at www.thedock.ie.
A sincere thank you to all our patrons, partners, sponsors, volunteers and venues who make this entirely voluntary-ran Festival possible.
2016 FESTIVAL COMMITTEE: Kathleen Coleman, Zoë Dunne Liam Farrell, Rebeccah Farrell, Gerard Fitzgerald.

Directed by Risteard O’Domhnaill and narrated by Brendan Gleeson, ‘Atlantic’ is the latest film from the makers of the multi-award-winning documentary, ‘The Pipe’. This film follows the fortunes of three small fishing communities - in Ireland, Norway and Newfoundland –
which are at turns united and divided by the Atlantic Ocean. Atlantic tells three very personal stories of those who face the devastating prospect of having their livelihoods taken from them, and their communities destroyed both environmentally and economically.

Sailing to the superb jazz sounds of Ciaran Wilde, Eddie Lee and Patrick Gilbert.
Three West-of Ireland based musicians formed in 2015 to perform a mixture of jazz standards and originals, from Nat King Cole, Brubeck and bebop classics, plus the odd original thrown in for good measure. Dublin City Jazz Orchestra leader,
saxophonist and clarinetist Ciaran Wilde is joined by Patrick Gilbert, an English born, New York educated jazz piano virtuoso who moved to Ireland from Kansas City last year. Patrick’s smooth voice perfectly complements his edgy gospel style piano chops, while the groove for this trio is laid down by well known bassist and Sligo Jazz Project founder Eddie Lee.
