If they cannot hear speech sounds fairly confidently by now, they are not ready to move to Yellow or Blue speech sounds and speech sound pics.

Phonemic awareness (Speech Sound Harry activities) are the MOST important for reading and spelling success.

Speak in speech sounds throughout the day. Young children love the speech sound puppets!

Children must be able to hear the smaller parts in spoken words, to then work out which sound pics to use.Especially when words become more

complicated.Learning words by memory, as ‘sight words’ is pointless for a LOT of children.

It doesn’t help the brain understand WHY.
