Presentation Forsa Alum ENG - Building Progress

TRANSCRIPT

FORSA was born in Colombia in 1995, and since then we

have offered to the construction sector an Industrialized

Construction System, based on a highly versatile and

adaptable formwork. This enable users to minimize costs and

construction times achieving high quality finishes, always with

our support, backup and continued advice.

Today we are leaders in the Colombian and Latin American

market, with three production facilities located in Colombia,

Mexico and Brazil as well as maintenance workshops in other

countries.

• FORSA is a modular, fast

and profitable construction

system.

• It achieves the construction

of a house a day using

poured slabs (walls and

floors simultaneously)

• The Forsa System adapts

to all types of design, in any

geometric form or

construction height

• The FORSA System is

complete: in addition to the

pieces and accessories the

system has, we supply all

the guard rails and specials

platforms allowing job

performance while fulfilling

all the client’s demands to

guarantee the safety of the

workers.

According to design,

architectural features the

amount of units to be built

and the required project

execution times; we offer two different products.

Aluminum formworks for big projects. This represents

lower costs, more savings and speed than traditional construction methods.

Plastic formworks made of engineering plastic for smaller

projects (housing and civil works) offering the builder excellent

concrete finishes.

MINIMUM WASTE OF CONCRETE

3.5% IN CONCRETE SAVING

VS.

Independent

pouring of walls and slab

With FORSA formworks construction of a

housing unit per day can be achieved

through monolithic pours (walls and slab at

the same time).

MONOLITHIC SYSTEM

MONOLITHIC POUR

90% SAVINGS IN RENDERING OF DETAILS

VS.

INDEPENDENT POURING OF WALLS

AND SLAB

• 90 degrees angle in wall-slab union • Maximum strength – minimal drifts • Slab bottoms properly leveled, completely

horizontal without bumps.

With FORSA System lightweight forms, fewer personnel is necessary to reach daily performance (steel forms 38 Kg/m2 vs. Forsa Alum 23 Kg/m2).

18% SAVINGS IN LABOR

VS. STEEL FORMS OR

TRADITIONAL METHODS.

CONSTRUCTION PERFORMANCE: HIGH RISE AND LOW RISE

FORSAalum: 1500 uses. FORSAplast : 400 uses. Daily preventive maintenance suggested by FORSA’s technical department is required in order to achieve offered lifecycle.

REUSABLE SYSTEM

4.0% OF THE STRUCTURE COST IS THE FORSA

SYSTEM

The size of each panel and contact surface quality of FORSA System, achieves excellent finishes on concrete surfaces. Reduces: rendering/plastering/ filling to achieve a flat surface before painting

FLAT AND HOMOGENEOUS CONTACT SURFACE

70% SAVING IN CORRECTIONS OR

FINISHINGS VS.

TRADITIONAL SYSTEM

Floor-to-Floor Connections: expansion joints helps hiding floor- to- floor dents.

The FORSA system integrates expansion joints to the forms and façade support angles to get them casted in the concrete slab edges.

FLOOR -TO- FLOOR TRANSITION

• Homogeneous façades: Dimensional precision, excellent vertical alignment and nice plumbs in corners and surface.

With FORSA Systems, dimensions of architectural design are maintained, this allows other construction activities to be industrialized (for example: door and window manufacturing, MEP installations and others).

INDUSTRIALIZATION OF THE PROCESSES

FORSA exceeds the demands of International Norm ACI 117

QUALITY STRUCTURE

Concrete warping

MAXIMUM FORSA 3mm

< NORM: 6 mm

FORSA INTEGRATES SPECIAL FEATURES TO CONCRETE SHAPES: The architectural and structural design is maintained and integrated into the mold. Some of these features include: curved elements on façades and roofs (vaults and others); diagonal walls, special ledges, etc.

VERSATILE SYSTEM

HIGH RISE AND LOW RISE PERFORMANCE

• Only one team of workers to pour walls and floors.

• Fast learning curve.

18% SAVING IN LABOR

VS. TRADITIONAL SYSTEM

Area: 80 m2 Cycle: 6 hours Average manpower performance: 1 m2/hour # Workers= 80/6/1 = 14

HIGH RISE AND LOW RISE PERFORMANCE

• For High Rise buildings you need a couple of workers for every 30 m. of perimeter to install walkways.

• Steel installation: 5 workers for 80 m2

• Hydraulic and sewage system: 2 workers for 80 m2

• Electricians: 2 workers for 80 m2

• 3 additional workers for patching and refilling holes left by ties. • 3 workers for supervision, axis plotting and other tasks.

CONSTRUCTION TIME REDUCTION

POSSIBILITY OF SIMULTANEOUS JOBS As the structure moves along, finishing work can be started on previously poured structures.

42% SAVING IN INDIRECT AND

ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES

VS. TRADITIONAL SYSTEM

• Different stages of the project in the same site, reducing the construction time. • Savings in Indirect and Administrative Expenses.

SIMULTANEOUS WORK

• Minimum Waste of Concrete • Less waste of Construction materials • Decrease of the use of wood.

CLEAN AND NEAT WORK SITES MEANS LESS COST

The FORSA System is compatible with any thermal insulation system.

WEATHER ADAPTED STRUCTURES

CONCRETE SPECIFICATIONS

Use concrete according to structural design specs and plasticizer / accelerator additives. For walls: Use gravel from 3/8» to ½ » depending on the thickness of the wall. For slabs: Use ½» to ¾» gravel

“Since I started using Forsa, I can control all my projects processes, represented in quality of works and major savings to get bigger profits. Eng. Andres Santamaria Apiros Constructors Bogotá, Colombia

BUILDERS ALWAYS COUNT ON OUR

COMPANIONSHIP

• Staff training on-site providing a

systematic method to ensure the optimum performance and consequent workforce reduction .

• Thanks to our Technical Monitoring

Plan, you’ll have on-site technical support at least twice a year until the end of the project. We look forward to improve your experience with Forsa systems and to guarantee formworks life cycle.

BUILDERS ALWAYS COUNT ON OUR

COMPANIONSHIP

• Permanent presence of our agents to meet any requirements.

• We have a very experienced

team to validate each stage of your formwork modulation in order to complete all project requirements and submit the most efficient solution.

FORSA Alum industrialized system compared to traditional systems is approximately 22% less of

direct cost.

DISMANTLING PROCESS

For second floor formwork assembly, exterior walkways should be installed at entire housing’s perimeter. Grooved angles are inserted on walkways slots to support façade panels and keep building verticality. Platforms over walkways provide a safe exterior surface for workers safe movement.

ADDING MORE FLOORS

Forsa system produce the best concrete finishes due to the precision of the manufactured parts and smooth contact surface.

A minimum amount of finishing compound must be applied before painting.
