OpenText Content Hub for Publishers

Product Features

User Interface – Customisable Panels

Loading Assets – Feeds

Wire feeds for text, pictures and video content provided by agencies, e.g. the Press Association, Reuters, Getty Images as illustrated below:

Loading Assets - Feeds

Below is a text wire feed panel:

Loading Assets – Contributors Portal

For external providers there is also a Contributor Portal where administrators can pre-define requirements, for example, required metadata, and pre-populate such metadata for ease of use and control. An example portal form is show here:

Text Mining and Semantic Navigation

All textual content entering or edited in CHP is automatically text mined by the OpenText Content Analytics (OTCA). This process automatically creates semantic tags that are attached to the asset and used within CHP to enable better search and find facilities.

Extended Metadata

A powerful new feature in CHP is the Extended Metadata function that enables administration users to define what are called Metadata Kinds – custom metadata sets that can be added to the standard set of metadata for any content asset at any time

Working with Pictures – Markups

Both hard and soft crops can be created for an image, based upon a marked up rectangle on a picture. Hard crops immediately build a new picture record which is linked back to the original. Soft crops mark an area of the picture for later use.

Working with Pictures – Comparisons

Up to four images can be selected and placed into a comparison panel where they can be locked together and moved, rotated and zoomed.

Working with Pictures – Composites

Up to ten images can be selected and made into a “Composite Picture” – a new asset with links to the source pictures. Crops can be applied manually or automatically – the screen shot below shows side by side the result of selecting five images and automated cropping and composition.

Working with Pictures – Galleries

A selection of images can be collected together to make a Gallery for output to a website, tablet or smartphone app. The sequence of the images in the gallery can be determined by simple drag and drop and one of the images can be selected as the poster for the gallery. The Gallery can have its own headline, caption, etc.

Media Browser

The Media Browser is a special multi-panel that is used to bring together a number of other panels so that the user has one place to see a number of current, historic and related content items and activities.

Content held in CHP can be managed by placing them into personal and/or community (shared) folders for ease of use and browsing, in effect, folders are collections of assets that can be worked with in any way that users need.

Publication Browser

A Publication Browser is provided that enables the user to find or browse through the editions and issues that have been published.

Syndication and licensing

CHP has an optional module for a syndication or licensing website. It can be used for managing licensed content provided to partners on a contractual basis and as a syndication website for B2B and B2C models. An extensive pricing model is available.

CHP panel API

CHP has a powerful facility for integrating 3rd party applications and content through an API that enables developers to create CHP panels thus providing users with a single interface for a variety of needs as well as a means of linking external content with internal content.
