S & S in the Fall
This fall we are going out into our community and serve. We are calling it
“S & S” (Saturday and Service). This will be on the third Saturday morning
during the months of September, October and November. We plan to help
do cleanup around the city and help individuals at their homes. Our first
S & S will be September 17 in the mornings from 8 to 11 o’clock. Sunday,
September 11, we will share with you the projects that we have for the fol-
lowing Saturday, and you will be able to mark on a card the service project
you would like to participate in. If you know of people in our community
who need a yard cut, weed eating done, or some small home repairs let me
or Alan Walker know. We will start back with M & M in January.
Wednesday Nights in the Fall
On the first Wednesday night in September we will go back to our regular
Bible Classes. The ladies class will meet in the commons classroom. The
young adults will be in their usual room, and I will be teaching in the old
auditorium. I plan to begin a study in Revelations sometime in September.
The teenagers and junior high classes will also resume.
Louisiana Flood
I have talked with one of the elders at the Goodwood Boulevard church in
Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They are handling the efforts from the Church of
Christ in that area. He says the thing needed most will be money to help
the brethren and others to rebuild their homes. The Disaster Relief team
and several other groups from the church are there on the ground helping.
