Results• no way of determining cause and effect: that is, whether the

perception of gender bias results in lower job satisfaction among faculty or lower job satisfaction increases the perception of gender bias.

Some more results• Flirtatiousness in an authority figure negatively affects women’s self-

confidence in their creativity but does not affect men’s self-confidence.

• women focus and define themselves more in the context of relationships than do men. This tendency may enhance women’s awareness of these issues in the workplace

Key Message• Males also experience harassment in form of workplace

discrimination, less likely to be sexually harassed….still there is very limited research.

Future directions• . The full consequences of the subjective aspects of harassment and

gender bias are unknown.
