Editing my Photos…By Justine Mason

Front Cover:

I cropped the image using the ‘crop tool’ by setting the ratio to 210 by 297 (the size of my A4 front cover).

I then experimented with the image/adjustments options, changing the colour balance and brightness/contrast levels to brighten the image and make the saturation more warm to blend out the blue.

In order to adjust the slight squint in my model’s eye, I used the filter/‘liquify’ effect to enlarge the eye.

The ‘spot healing brush tool’ helped me to conceal any blemishes or uneven skin tone on my model.

Contents PageI cropped the image of my subsidiary model using the ‘crop tool’.

I edited the colouration of both my images as well as the saturation and brightness/contrast using the image/adjustments option.

Double Page SpreadI cropped my chosen image using the ‘crop tool’.

In order to remove my main model from the image (as I only wanted my subsidiary model featured in my double page spread), I used the ‘lasso tool’ to trace around the outside of her and selected edit/fill to remove her.

In order to make the image more realistic, I used the ‘patch tool’ and the ‘spot healing brush tool’ to erase the shadow from the ground and the slightly blurred background.
