• Purpose• To promote awareness of the Airshow and to share the traffic plan with area

businesses located near to and adjacent to the Airport that may be impacted by the event

• Participants• Commercial & industrial property representatives along the main traffic entry

and exit corridors serving the Airport

Airshow event overview• Thursday, October 14

• Practice day, Blue Angels, Noon – 5 pm• Road closures, CR 30 and Boyd Lake Avenue in place• Airport closed to the general public - no spectators

• Friday, October 15• Practice day for the entire airshow, Noon – 5 pm

• Road closures, CR 30 and Boyd Lake Avenue in place• Limited attendance by invitation only (300 people)• Unofficial parking along perimeter roads may occur

• Saturday & Sunday, October 16 & 17, • Airshow event day, 9 am – 5 pm

• Road closures, CR 30 and Boyd Lake Avenue• Attendance anticipated to be up to 15,000 people each day with on-site parking for 6,500 vehicles• Unofficial parking along perimeter roads may occur• Inbound traffic expected from 9 am – about 2 pm (5 hours) with heaviest inflow expected between 10:30

am and 12:30 pm• Outbound traffic expected from 4 pm to 6 pm (2 hours) with heaviest outflow between 4:30 and 5:30

• Assumption is 7,000 total vehicles to include all that will be onsite to support and attend the event

• Determined traffic flows in certain areas• Traffic flow is the critical hinge point

Peak demand times• Inbound:

• Traffic is generally arriving between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. with the following time distribution:

• 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. 25 % of arrivals• 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. 60 % of arrivals• 12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. 15 % of arrivals• The peak hour of arrivals involves approximately 30% of inbound vehicles.

• Outbound:• Outbound traffic is concentrated between 4 and 6 pm.• Noon – 4:30 p.m. 10 % of departures• 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. 70 % of departures• 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. 20 % of departures• The peak hour of departures involves 70% of outbound vehicles.
