UM POUCO DE HISTUM POUCO DE HISTÓÓRIA RIA No séc. XIX, Gall e Spurzheim - funções da fala localizadas no Lobo Frontal;
Em 1836, Dax percebe a relação entre afasia e lesões do hemisfério esquerdo;
Na metade do século, Paul Broca notou perda da fala associada a uma lesão da convolução frontal inferior esquerda;
Em 1862, Trousseau usou pela primeira vez a palavra afasia;
Carl Wernicke, em 1874, descreveu perda da compreensão da fala resultante de lesão do giro temporal superior esquerdo e posteriormente relatou que uma lesão posterior ao giro temporal superior, na região do giro angular, gerava incapacidade de compreensão de palavras escritas. Fez também a primeira descrição do que é conhecido hoje como afasia de condução;
Lichtheim descreveu a afasia subcortical;
Hughlings-Jackson enfatizou a complexidade dos transtornos da linguagem
Em 1906, Pierre Marie, abordagem holística da função da linguagem;
A aquisição da neuroimagem funcional confirmou a importância dos córtex frontal inferior posterior (FIP) esquerdo e temporal superior posterior (TSP) nos transtornos de linguagem, conforme predito por Broca, Wernicke e Lichtheim.

DEFINIDEFINIÇÇÃOÃODistúrbio de linguagem adquirido como resultado de uma lesão focal no SNC.
Refere-se a um transtorno da linguagem, incluindo diversas combinações de comprometimentos na capacidade de produzir espontaneamente, compreender e repetir a fala, assim como defeitos na capacidade de ler e escrever.
É um transtorno de capacidades de linguagem anteriormente intactas devido a uma lesão cerebral.
Indica que o problema não se deve a uma paralisia ou incapacidade dos órgãos da fala ou dos músculos que controlam outras formas de expressão.
O grau de déficit parece correlacionar-se com o tamanho da lesão e também com sua localização.
A maioria dos casos de afasia se deve a isquemia na distribuição da ACM (artéria cerebral média)

AFASIA SUBCORTICALAFASIA SUBCORTICALDecorrem de lesões envolvendo o tálamo, o caudado, o putâmem ou a cápsula interna do hemisfério dominante da linguagem.
Foram descritos dois tipos:
Síndrome Anterior (Afasia do Caudado ou Estriatocapsular)Caracteriza-se por fala lenta e disártrica, não telegráfica. Compreensão preservada e dificuldade de nomear.
Síndrome Posterior (Afasia Talâmica)Há fala fluente sem disartria, compreensão deficiente e nomear inadequado.
Em ambas as formas a repetição está relativamente preservada, e os pacientes têm geralmente hemiplegia associada.
