1. SECTION 00 42 43 – BID FORM – UNIT PRICE, Article 5, Paragraph 5.02, replace:

During the Pre-Bid Meeting the attending Contractors requested that the Owner only require

the Total of All Unit Price Bid Items and Total of all Alternates Unit Price Bid Items with

submittal of the Bid. After careful consideration with the Owner, the Engineer is replacing

paragraph 5.02 of Article 5 of the Bid From to read as follows:.

5.02

A. Bidders are required to provide the Total of All Unit Price Bid Items for the Base Bid

and Alternate Bids 1-4 with their Bid. The two lowest bidders for the pool construction

shall provide within 48 hours, the itemized bid schedule showing unit prices for each

item listed in the Basis of Bid equal to the Total of All Unit Price Bid Items Bid, as

shown in Paragraph 5.01.

B. Bidders may submit the Unit Prices for each Bid Item with their Bid. Bids submitted

with Unit Prices for each Bid Item are subject to Article 14, paragraph 14.01 C of the

Instruction to Bidders.

C. Bidder acknowledges that (1) each itemized Unit Price submitted includes an amount

considered by Bidder to be adequate to cover Contractor’s overhead and profit for each

B. Bidders may submit the Unit Prices for each Bid Item with their Bid. Bids submitted

with Unit Prices for each Bid Item are subject to Article 14, paragraph 14.01 C of the

Instruction to Bidders.

C. Bidder acknowledges that (1) each itemized Unit Price submitted includes an amount

considered by Bidder to be adequate to cover Contractor’s overhead and profit for each

separately identified item, and (2) estimated quantities are not guaranteed, and are

solely for the purpose of comparison of Bids, and final payment for all unit price Bid

Items will be based on actual quantities, as listed in the Bid Form, and determined as

provided in the Contract Documents.

2. SUPPLEMENTARY CONDITIONS – Article 7 – Contractor’s Responsibilities, delete

paragraph:

Supplementary Condition SC-7.02.B. is listed twice. Delete the second SC-7.02.B.

3. SECTION 13 15 60 – SWIMMING POOL EQUIPMENT

Part 2.06 Deck Equipment, add

Diving Tower pre-approved equal: 3 Meter and 1 Meter stainless steel Sportflyte Dive Towers,

Flanged Pedestal.

Staring Block Anchors: Contractor shall furnish and install six (6) Adjustable Single Post Anchor

Assembly with cover by S.R. Smith part number 27-107 or approved equal. Location shall be per

manufacturer’s recommendations or field located by the Engineer on the “deep end” of the pool only.

ADA Compliant Pool Lift Anchor: Contractor shall furnish and install one (1) aXs Lift anchor with

anchor cap as manufactured by S.R. Smith. Anchor to be installed per manufacturers

recommendations. Location to be determined in the field by Engineer. Actual lift is not in the

Contract.

Equipment concrete footings, electrical groundings, and any & all appurtenances shall be installed to

meet the equipment manufacturer’s recommendations.

Part 2.08 Circulation Pump, revise to read

A. Prior to ordering pump, the Engineer will verify the pump head based on the flow

characteristics of the perimeter recirculating system and water features.

B. A single centrifugal pump directly connected to an electric motor will be supplied for

operation of the pool recirculation system. The pump will have minimum six (6) inch

suction and minimum five (5) inch delivery and will have a capacity of 716 GPM when

delivering against a total dynamic head of 60-feet. The total dynamic suction lift will not be

less than 18 inches of mercury. Minimum pump efficiency shall be 84 % operating in the

80-100% BEP range.

C. Pump Casing, seal bracket and impeller shall be coated with 3M Scotchkote 134 fusion

D. The motor will be a maximum 20 BHP, 3 phase, 230, 60 hertz, 1750 RPM, ball bearing, drip

proof, low starting current, normal starting torque induction motor. Motors operating slower

speeds will be considered. Minimum Motor Efficiency shall be 90% and TEFC motor

enclosure.

E. Flexible couplers at pump discharge will be Proco Style RC-231, or Engineer approved

equal, concentric rubber expansion joint. Concentric in design, each flanged-end shares the

same common center-line. Limit control roads will be required on each coupler as required

per manufacturer or call for in the plans.

F. Pre-Approved Pumps include Pentair Aura 340/360, Grundfos or Engineer Pre-Approved

Equal.

Part 2.11 Water Chemistry Controller, approved Equal

BECSys5 manufactured by BECS Technology, Saint Louis, Missouri, is an approved equal.

Part 2.15 C Pool Heater, revise to read.

C. Complete and Working System is required. The pool contractor shall pay, provide, install and

be responsible for any extra materials required due to his use of alternate accepted equipment which

has installation requirements different than the specified equipment. This includes paying other

trades for any extra work they are involved in due to this substitution of equipment.

Part 2.22 Water Feature Pump, revise to read.

A. The motor will be a maximum 5 BHP, 3 phase, 230/460, 60 hertz, maximum 1750 RPM,

TEFC, minimum 90% motor efficiency, ball bearing, drip proof, low starting current, normal

starting torque induction motor. Motors operating at lower speeds will be considered.

B. A single centrifugal pump directly connected to an electric motor will be supplied for operation

of the zero entry pool water features. The pump will have minimum four (4) inch suction and

minimum three (3) inch delivery and will have the capacity as follows:

1. Items 1 through 4 in Part 2.19 – 246.4 gpm when delivering against a total dynamic head of

35.8-feet. The total dynamic suction lift will not be less than 18-inches of mercury.

2. Pump shall have a minimum of 65% Efficiency.

Pump casing, seal bracket and impeller shall be coated with 3M Scotchkote 134 fusion bonded

epoxy coating.

C. Flexible couplers at pump discharge will be Proco Style RC-231, or Engineer approved equal,

concentric rubber expansion joint. Concentric in design, each flanged-end shares the same

common center-line. Limit control roads will be required on each coupler as required per

manufacturer or call for in the plans.

D. Pre-Approved pump is Pentair Auror 340 series 3X4, Grundfos or engineer pre-approved equal.

E. Header pipe for the feature pump shall be oversized to easily accommodate upsizing the feature

pump to accommodate Alternate Bid 3 at a future date.

F. Additional Costs for upsizing the pump for the alternate bid will be included with the

appropriate alternate.

Part 2.25 Alternate Bid 1 Open Flume Body Slide Feature, Paragraph S & T, revise to read.

H. The flume slide length will be measured based on the centerline of the flume. Flume length to

be 150’-0” or greater. The vertical drop height of the flume slide will be measured from the

starter tub to the water surface and will not be less than 20-feet.

T. The motor will be a maximum 15 BHP, 3 phase, 230, 60 hertz, 1750 RPM, ball bearing, drip

proof, low starting current, normal starting torque induction motor. Motors operating slower

speeds will be considered. Minimum Motor Efficiency shall be 90% and TEFC motor

enclosure.

A strainer meeting the requirements of 2.05 above will be furnished with the pump. Suction

and Supply PVC piping shall be stubbed ~15’outside the pump house and Suction PVC

piping to be stubbed out from pool clear of the concrete decking and each pipe capped

with a DI Cap under the Base Bid. All piping required for flume slide above ground will be

supplied under the Alternate Bid.

4. SECTION 33 31 00 – SANITARY SEWER PIPING AND FITTINGS, Part 2 Products,

add:

Part 2.13 UNDERDRAIN PIPE

A. Underdrain Piping shall be perforated PVC SDR 35 with a geotextile sock suitable for the

design application.

Part 2.14 CLEANTOUT CAST IRON CONCRETE CASTING COVER

A. Cleanout cover in concrete shall be a Z1474-N Heavy Duty Cleanout Housing w/ Z1440

Internal Cleanout engineer pre-approved equal.

Existing Utilities

The Existing Site previously had multiple water, sewer, and electrical services. All water and

sewer services have been disconnected in the street and electrical power disconnected at the

power pole.

Top Soil Borrow

The Owner shall furnish and stockpile topsoil borrow material as needed. The Contractor shall

place all topsoil to the grades and locations shown on the plans or as indicated by the Engineer.

The Contractor is still required to make an effort to salvage the topsoil from the existing site as

directed by the Engineer and specified in the Contract Documents.

Tree Removal

Existing Tree Removal shall be completed by the Owner. Trees shown to remain shall not be

removed unless otherwise directed by the Engineer.

Sheet C11 DETAIL SHEET, add note

Owner intends to furnish and install a drop slide, single flume Model # 185-108 as

manufactured by Miracle Recreation Equipment Company. The Contractor is required to

install a thickened concrete footings for this play feature as required by the Manufacturer.

ALL OTHER ITEMS OF THE CIVIL PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS REMAIN

D. Salt Spray Resistance: No cracking, checking, crazing, erosion, blistering, peeling,delamination, or corrosion of finish coating after 300 hours exposure in accordance with ASTMB117, using at least three samples matching intended assembly, at least 4 by 6 inches in size.

E. Freeze-Thaw Resistance: No cracking, checking, crazing, erosion, blistering, peeling,delamination, or corrosion of finish coating when viewed under 5x magnification after 10 cycles,when tested in accordance with ICC-ES AC219 or AC235.

manufacturer.PART 3 EXECUTION3.01 GENERAL

A. Install in accordance with EIFS manufacturer's instructions and ASTM C1397.B. Where different requirements appear in either document, comply with the most stringent.C. Neither of these documents supercedes the provisions of the Contract Documents that define

the contractual relationships between the parties or the scope of work.3.02 EXAMINATION

A. Verify that substrate is sound and free of oil, dirt, other surface contaminants, efflorescence,loose materials, or protrusions that could interfere with EIFS installation and is of a type andconstruction that is acceptable to EIFS manufacturer. Do not begin work until substrate andadjacent materials are complete and thoroughly dry.

B. Verify that substrate surface is flat, with no deviation greater than 1/4 in when tested with a 10 ftstraightedge.

3.03 INSTALLATION - INSULATIONA. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.B. Install back wrap reinforcing mesh at all openings and terminations that are not to be protected

with trim.C. On wall surfaces, install boards horizontally. On horizontal surfaces, install boards _______.D. Place boards in a method to maximize tight joints. Stagger vertical joints and interlock at

corners. Butt edges and ends tight to adjacent board and to protrusions. Achieve a continuousflush insulation surface, with no gaps in excess of 1/16 inch.

E. Fill gaps greater than 1/16 inch with strips or shims cut from the same insulation material.F. Rasp irregularities off surface of installed insulation board.G. Adhesive Attachment: Use method recommended by EIFS manufacturer.

3.04 INSTALLATION - FINISHA. Joints: Install control and expansion joints at spacings indicated on the drawings. Do not exceed

150 sq ft for areas defined by the placement of control joints.B. Reinforcing Mesh: Install in strict accordance with manufacturer's instructions, using mechanical

fasteners at spacing recommended.1. Lap reinforcing mesh edges and ends 2 inches minimum.

C. Base Coat: Install to minimum thickness specified, following manufacturer's instructions. Leavebase coat in condition suitable to receive finish coat.

D. Finish Coat: Apply finish coat after base coat has dried not less than 24 hours, embed finishaggregate, and finish to a uniform texture and color.

E. Seal control and expansion joints within the field of exterior finish and insulation system, usingprocedures recommended by sealant and finish system manufacturers.

F. Apply sealant at finish perimeter and at control and expansion joints as detailed and inaccordance with Section 079005.

3.05 CLEANINGA. Clean EIFS surfaces and work areas of foreign materials resulting from EIFS operations.

3.06 PROTECTIONA. Protect completed work from damage and soiling by subsequent work.
