Flow Control

Series SThe Morin Series S actuator product utilize a Scotch yoke mechanismthat provides highest torque outputs at each end of the actuator stroke,resulting in a torque characteristic that is typical to most quarter-turnvalves. The Morin Series S actuators are constructed of stainless steeloffering high levels of corrosion protection.

Morin offers both symmetrical and canted yoke designs to allow suitingthe output torque profile to the valve for more efficient and economicoperation.

• Scotch yoke design using precision bearings eliminates dead band in the yokemechanism, providing the greatest torque output at the beginning and end of stroke.

• Teflon® piston bearings, bronze piston rod bushings and output shaft bushings of eitherbronze or Teflon® provide longer life, reduce maintenance and require no lubrication.

• Choice of canted or symmetrical yoke design puts the torque where its most needed.

• Bi-directional travel stops provide accurate valve rotation adjustment.

Series B or CThe Morin Series B and C actuator products utilize a Scotch yokemechanism that provides highest torque outputs at each end of theactuator stroke, resulting In a torque characteristic that is typical tomost quarter-turn valves. The Morin Series B and C actuators areconstructed of ductile iron housing and end caps, 17-4 stainlesssteel yoke, with either 316 stainless steel barrels for the Series B or steel barrels with Xylan® coating for the Series C.

Morin offers both symmetrical and canted yoke designs to allow suiting the output torqueprofile to the valve for more efficient and economic operation.

• Scotch yoke design using precision bearings eliminates dead band in the yokemechanism, providing the greatest torque output at the beginning and end of stroke.

Series Alga and ALGASThe Biffi pneumatic actuator utilizes a scotch yoke design that generates high breaktorque needed for the actuation of many quarter-turn valves. The Biffi actuator can beprovided with a symmetric yoke or canted yoke design. The product line has lowhysteresis and high response for enhanced modulating services.

• Six bearings provide reliability, smooth operation and extended service life.

• Guide bar supports the transverse forces and ensures proper support of the pistonrod. Hard chrome plating on guide bar provides corrosion resistance and minimalfriction loads.

• Electroless nickel-plated cylinder bore provides maximum corrosion resistance andreliability.

Morin Scotch yoke actuators have continued to gain market share over the years dueto the corrosive resistance material used along with very high reliability. The HP takesthe same proven technology but adapts it for use with high-pressure hydraulics. Morinalso offers a complete line of accessories such as lockouts, ESD packages, overrides,and mounting hardware.

Biffi F02The BIFFI F02 series of quarter-turn actuators offers the market an innovative design whichbridges the small quarter-turn actuators and the large multi-turn actuators. Features arestandard which, up until now, have only been optional.

The universal voltage design allows one actuator to be used with 24 to 240 VDC and 24 to240 VAC 50/60 Hz. The self locking epicyclical gear train eliminates the the need ofbrakes. Options such as servo controls, feedback modules, monitor relays network cardsand local pushbutton stations give the flexibility needed to integrate into most customerssystems.ISO 5211 Mounting with Star drive.

Torque Range: 600 to 17,700 lb. in.

Universal Voltage Supply: 24 to 240 volt AC or DC

EPI2The Keystone EPI2 series is the most innovative all-in-one actuator solution for theautomation of quarter-turn valves and dampers. With a huge number of standardfeatures included in a small, compact design, this new series of electric actuatorsgreatly simplifies valve, actuator and control system integration. Available with bothweatherproof and explosion proof environmental ratings allows for a wide range ofapplications in most plant environments. The unique epicyclical gear train eliminatesthe need for mechanical/electrical brakes and handwheel clutch mechanisms. TheEPI2 direct mounts to most Tyco valves, eliminating the need for expensive mountingbrackets. The EPI2 can be tailored to fit customer requirements with the addition ofoptions such as servo controls, feedback modules, network cards and localpushbutton station. This flexibility gives customers the ability to meet many of theirquarter-turn electric actuator needs with a single actuator line.
