ABSTRACT

The provision of motorists’ stop and rest area along

the highway averts drowsiness and accidents of the

travelers. It maximizes safety and comfort of the motorist

as they retrn to the roadway. The !alsema highway as the

ma"or rote to #orthern $zon and regarded as dangeros road

in the %hilippines has a potential of providing stop and

rest station since it has no designated one stop facility

provided. The researcher proposed to come p with the design

of motorist stop and rest area in Sinipsip& Bgias that

will meet the needs of the travelers and promotes the

facility integrating its decent 'ilding character of the

commnity. A descriptive type method of research was sed to

relate and analyze the applica'le principles and theories

that e(ates to the stdy. As a reslt& the motorist stop

and rest area was fond ot as a complex facility provided

that it services many fnctions for the motorists.

Additionally& it gives a new appearance considering its

distinctive 'ilding character and showcased an image as a

remar)a'le to motorists 'oth travelers and torists. The

researcher recommends to frther implements gidelines in

designing a stop and rest area. To maintain the appearance

of the complex& the researcher recommends to the proponent

to preserve the character for ftre renovations and

additions of the facility regardless of the provided

services in the complex.
