ABOUT TEACHER’S DAY IN INDIA 2014

Teachers are the glory of the world. And, Teachers’ day is celebrated all across the world to honor our teachers. Different countries celebrate the day on different dates.

5th October is observed as world teachers’ day mentioned here. And, in India, 5th September is the day when this day is observed.

India is continuously celebrating teachers’ day since the year of 1962.

The day is the birthday of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the great educationist and philosopher of India and, was the first vice president and the second president of the independent India.

He was a strong supporter of education and wanted that the teachers should be admired as they are the builder of the future of any nation.

Hence, instead of celebrating his birthday separately, he wished that the day should be celebrated in the honor the teachers of the nation.

Teachers play a vital role in the overall development of a person, which forms a nation and, ultimately the world.

Teachers show the path of progress and lead their students to the way by guiding them, teaching them, supporting them and even encouraging them.

We need them at every step and turn of our life. They are important at every stage and should be thanked and valued each day for their contribution.

Since, we miss to do that in our daily life, the teachers’ day is meant to be celebrated.

In India, the day is celebrated in several ways. The students of the schools and colleges wish their teachers in many ways.

They greet Teachers Day Messages; even gift a card as part of gratitude. Various poems and speeches are written by the students.

The schools even undergo several competitions such as essay writing, poem writing and even delivering them through the stage, or a speech on teachers’ day competition is also observed.

The senior students are the teacher for that particular day. They teach their juniors the various subjects on the day. The selection procedures are undertaken for selecting those ‘one day teachers’.

They even prepare for what they would be teaching on this day.

And, at the end of the day the best teacher of the day is announced and even awarded.

Darkness is never to be invited, as it always there. The absence of the light is only the cause of the darkness. Knowledge is the light which we need on the every step of our life.

The darkness of ignorance is always present there. Teacher is the soul who lightens the world with the light of knowledge.

Let’s thank such beautiful people on this teachers’ day whole heartedly. Let them know how important they are for the honorable job they are doing to the world. Let every teacher feel proud on this day.
