    1.1 GENERALThe Aboozar oil field is located In Persian Gulf some 75 KM to the west of Kharg Island district. Thisproject includes two Aboozar A20 & A21 new wellhead platforms and infield pipe lines and subseacables. The A20 platform will be installed in a location with 6200 m distance from existing Aboozar ACcomplex. The A21 platform will be installed in a location with 2600 m distance from existing AboozarAA platform. The Aboozar field is located in a water depth of approximately 40 meters.The existing facilities consist of:- 3 production platform (AA/AB/AC )- 10 multi well platforms (A9/A10/A11/A12/A14/A15/A16/A17/A18A/19)- 3 flare structures with associated supporting platform- 1 quarters platform (AQ)- 3 unit platforms located on Flare Bridge supporting platform.The three main components of the WORK are the followings:New offshore platformsTwo unmanned wellhead platforms, equipped with the minimum production facilities, including topdeck and jacket. Their names are A20 and A21. It is supposed that they are identical.Subsea Pipelines and CablesSupply and installation of subsea pipelines and cables in A20 and A21 to existing platformsModification on existing platforms. Figure 1.1 shows Aboozar field overall view.

    This Specification defines the minimum technical requirements for induction-formed riser and spoolbends.

    1.3 PROJECT ENGINEERING DOCUMENTSThese Specifications shall be read in conjunction with the following project specifications.

    1.4 CONFLICTS AND DEVIATIONSAll conflicts between requirements of this specification, related contract documents, national standardsand codes of practice shall be referred to the EPC CONTRACTOR / COMPANY for clarification.Where The VENDOR wishes to deviate from this Specification, or any references contained hereinthese deviations shall be clearly stated by the VENDOR and approved by the EPC CONTRACTOR /COMPANY prior to the commencement of work.

    1.5 DEFINITIONSThroughout this specification, the following definitions shall apply:Company Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC)EPC Contractor Consortium of Jahan-pars and DRG Oil as EPC contractor of projectConsultant means Petrogas-Jahan as design engineering subcontractor of Consortium

    The VENDOR shall maintain an effective program for quality assurance, and quality control, plannedand developed in conjunction with all functions, necessary to meet the requirements of the EPCCONTRACTOR / COMPANY Purchase Order or Sub-contract. The requirements shall be met by theestablishment and implementation of procedures which shall ensure that acceptable products arepresented to EPC CONTRACTOR / COMPANY. The program shall demonstrate both recognition ofthe quality requirements of the order and an organized approach to satisfy these requirements. Thequality program shall ensure that quality requirements are determined prior to commencement ofmanufacture and subsequently satisfied throughout all phases of production and delivery. TheVENDORs quality systems and quality control procedures shall be in accordance with BS EN ISO9002 and shall be subject to review and approval of EPC CONTRACTOR / COMPANY.

    3.1 InspectionEPC CONTRACTOR / COMPANY will visit the nominated production facilities for the purpose ofwitnessing all procedures to be used in the manufacture, inspection, testing, identification and storage ofthe induction bends through all stages of manufacture. The EPC CONTRACTOR / COMPANYreserves the right to require changes to be made to any nominated manufacturing, inspection testing orstorage practices that do not meet the requirements of this specification, and to reject materials at anyand all stages of manufacture. All representatives of EPC CONTRACTOR / COMPANY shall beallowed free access to all parts of the works where material for the preparation and coating is beingprocessed, used, repaired, inspected or stored. The VENDOR shall fax/telex EPC CONTRACTOR /COMPANY giving notification at least two week prior to the start of the coating process to enableinspection arrangements to be made.

    3.2 Vendors ResponsibilitiesThe VENDOR shall furnish all materials for bends manufacture, all equipment, all test equipment tomeasure bend properties and all instruments or standards for calibrating such devices and toolsnecessary for completing the work in this specification.The VENDOR shall maintain all equipment to be used to perform the work in good condition and shallmake available calibration certificates to the EPC CONTRACTOR / COMPANY, as requested.The VENDOR shall guard against injury to personnel and property at all times.

    Specification Page 10 of 23B22118GOXXSPEPLABThe work shall meet any additional requirements stated on the accompanying procurement package.The EPC CONTRACTOR / COMPANY reserves the right to inspect and reject at all stages of inductionbend manufacture if the work is not in accordance with this specification. The VENDOR shall submit aproduction schedule to the EPC CONTRACTOR / COMPANY for approval. The VENDOR shall give aminimum of seven (7) days written notice of commencement of the work. The VENDOR shall give theCONTARCTOR full and unrestricted access to all areas of the work concerned with the preparation,manufacture, and inspection and testing of the bends. If any inspection or testing reveals that the work isnot in accordance with this specification, then the entire manufacturing procedure shall be repeated fromthe point where the Sub-Contractor can demonstrate compliance with this specification. Such remedialwork shall be carried out at no expense to the EPC CONTRACTOR / COMPANY. The EPCCONTRACTOR / COMPANY reserves the right to use still or video photography to document thepreparation, manufacturing or inspection activities at any stage of manufacture. All tests performed bythe VENDOR or his suppliers to establish the properties or characteristic of materials shall be inaccordance with the listed codes and standards or in accordance with test methods referenced therein. Inall other cases the Sub-Contractor shall obtain approval from the EPC CONTRACTOR / COMPANYfor alternative standards or test methods to apply. Any errors or omissions noted by the VENDOR shallbe immediately brought to the attention of the EPC CONTRACTOR / COMPANY. The VENDOR shallsubmit all required documents on time for the EPC CONTRACTOR / COMPANYs approval.

    4.1 MATERIALS

    4.1.1 CompositionThe VENDOR shall be responsible for supplying 6", 12" and 14" NPS, carbon steel pipe materialsuitable for manufacturing bends in accordance with this Specification. SUPPLIER shall select suitablepipe joints from the PURCHASER pipe stock. The selected pipe joints shall have wall thickness suchthat after the bending the minimum wall thickness complied with the specified minimum requirements.

    4.1.2 Tangent Lengths and Bends EndsAll bends shall be supplied with 500mm long tangent lengths at each end. Weld bevels shall be preparedon all ends before application of that treatment. Beveled ends shall have the bevel angle and root face inaccordance with the requirements of API 5L/ISO 3183 for plain end pipe. All ends shall be fitted withmaterial bevel protectors.

    4.1.3 Bend RadiiPipeline bends shall be supplied with bend radii of 5D.

    4.1.4 Test RingsTest rings of length 300mm shall be supplied to represent pipe size and heat treatment batch for thepurposes of welding Procedure and Welder qualification.

    4.1.5 Mother PipeThe mother pipe used for the production of induction bends shall generally be in accordance with theappropriate project Line pipe specification AB-EPL-SP-GOXX-2112 latest revision.

    4.2 Manufacturing ProcedureBending shall be in accordance with a written manufacturing procedure specification (MPS), whichshall be submitted to PURCHASER for approval prior to commencement of production.This procedure shall include all proposed operations and tests, together with all appropriate parametersand acceptance criteria. The minimum information that shall be presented in the MPS is listed below:

    The Manufacturing Procedure Specification (MPS) shall as a minimum contain the followinginformation:

    The bending process used Supply of material; manufacturer and manufacturing location of material Bending process control procedures Heat treatment procedures NDT procedures Corrosion testing procedures List of specified mechanical and corrosion testing Dimensional control procedures Marking, coating and protection procedures Handling loading and shipping procedures

    Reference to applicable supplementary requirements, e.g. NACE MR-0175/ISO 15156 sour Bends shallbe made from lengths of straight pipe (mother pipe). Bending shall be carried out without mandrelsusing progressive local induction heating at the point where the pipe is being bent Miter or wrinklebends are not permitted. Once the bending operation has commenced any stoppage shall not bepermitted until the entire bend is completed. Post-bend heat treatment shall be applied over the entirebend and tangent lengths unless SUPPLIER can demonstrate to the satisfaction of PURCHASER that

    4.3 MANUFACTURING PROCEDURE QUALIFICATION (MPQ)

    4.3.1 GeneralA test bend shall be produced to qualify each heat and production bend diameter using the thickest pipeto be bent. Further test bends are required for variations outside the permitted wall thickness range, bendradius and process variable ranges.The examinations and mechanical tests as described in this and the following subsections shall beperformed on each test bend. All tests shall be performed on a bend in the final heat-treated condition.For bends subject to a full austenitising heat treatment after bending, e.g. as part of a quench andtempering heat treatment, mechanical testing at transition areas is not required.Dimensions of the bend shall meet the requirements of Section 6.5 of this Specification the bend shallbe non-destructively tested in accordance with Section 7 of this Specification. The testing proceduresand acceptance criteria shall be in accordance with the relevant linepipe specification (refer to section2.1) unless otherwise stated in this Specification.

    4.3.2 Tensile TestingTensile testing of specimens with the following orientations and locations:

    Longitudinal and transverse from the base material at the inner and outer arc radii (4total) Longitudinal and transverse from the base material at the start transition area of the inner

    and outer arc radii (4no. total) Longitudinal and transverse from the base material in the tangent length (2no. total) Transverse from the seam weld of bends fabricated from welded pipe at the tangent length,

    start and stop transition area and the arc area (4no. total)

    Charpy V-notch impact testing of specimens with the following orientations and locations: Longitudinal and transverse from the base material at the inner and outer arc radii (4no.

    sets total) Longitudinal and transverse from the base material at the start transition area of the inner

    and outer arc radii (4no, sets total) Longitudinal and transverse from the base material in the tangent length (2no. sets total) Transverse from the weld metal, fusion line and fusion line + 2mm of bends fabricated

    from welded pipe at the arc area (3no. sets total) Transverse from the weld metal of bends fabricated from welded pipe at the start and stop

    transition areas (2no. sets total)Charpy V-notch impact tests shall be carried out at -10C. Acceptance criteria shall be 30J minimum,and 36J minimum for average of 3no. specimens.

    4.3.4 Hardness TestingFull wall macro samples will be removed perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the pipe from thefollowing locations.

    The inner and outer radii of the base material at the start and stop transition areas (4no setstotal)

    The tangent length of the base material (1 no. set total) The start and stop transitions areas of the weld metal of bends fabricated from welded pipe

    (2no. sets total).The macro sections shall be polished and Vickers hardness tested in accordance with BS 427 Part 1. Themaximum hardness shall be 220Hv10 in the base material and 248 Hvl0 in the weld and HAI. Thehardness survey shall be as follows:

    For base material: parallel to the pipe wall. 2 mm from each surface and at the mid-thickness. A minimum of 12 indentations at 2 mm intervals shall be recorded.

    For weld macros as shown in Figure 6.1 The bend shall be non-destructively tested in accordance with Section 7.0 of this

    Specification.

    4.3.5 Corrosion TestingWhere sour service is specified Hydrogen-Induced Cracking (HIC) testing shall be required. The testingwill be in accordance with NACE TM0284, using test solution A. The test specimens maybe taken fromthe tangent lengths and shall not be flattened. The acceptance criteria shall be as follows:

    Crack length Ratio, CIR < 15% Crack Thickness Ratio, CTR < 5%, with no transverse cracking greater than 0 1 mm Crack Surface Ration, CSR < 1.5%

    4.3.6 Essential VariablesAll tests shall be performed on a bend in the final heat treated condition. For bends subject to a fullaustenitising heat treatment after bending (e.g. as part of a quench and tempering heat treatment),mechanical testing at start and stop transition areas specified above shall not be required. The testingprocedures and acceptance criteria shall be in accordance with the relevant linepipe specification (referto section 6.1) unless otherwise stated in this Specification.The following parameters shall be essential variables, changes in which will necessitate re-qualificationof the MPS:

    Change of mother pipe materials from one heat to another Any change in the diameter of mother pipe. unless otherwise agreed by PURCHASER

    4.4 PRODUCTION BENDSAll production bends shall be manufactured using the approved and qualified manufacturing procedure.Any variation in procedure or deviation from the bend forming parameters used for the test bend, shallbe cause for rejectionAll production bends shall be non-destructively examined in accordance with the requirements ofSection 7 of this SpecificationHardness testing shall be performed on the external surface of the completed bends using aPURCHASER-approved portable hardness tester The testing shall comprise a minimum of 8measurements around the bend circumference in the tangent lengths and In the middle of the arc section.Where tangent lengths have not been subject to Induction heating, hardness measurements shall also betaken in the start and stop transition area. The maximum hardness shall not exceed 300Hv10 exceptwhere sour service is specified, when the hardness shall not exceed 248Hv10.

    4.5 DIMENSIONSThe wall thickness at any location on the finished bend shall not be less than the minimum wallthickness as specified in the relevant pipeline datasheet. The wall thickness of the sacrificial MPQ testbend shall be measured ultrasonically at 150mm intervals along a band 50mm wide at the inner andouter radii of the bend between the start and stop transition areas. The wall thickness of productionbends shall be measured on the circumference at locations representing the extrados. Intrados andneutral zone.All bends shall be supplied to the following dimensional tolerances:

    The inside diameter measured at each of the bend tangent ends shall be within thetolerances specified in the relevant linepipe specification (see section 2 1)

    diameter, shall not exceed 3.0% of the nominal pipe outside diameter in the body of thebend. At the ends of the bend. out of roundness shall be within the tolerances specified inthe relevant linepipe specification (see section 2.1)

    Each production bend shall be tested using a gauging pig. The gauge shall consist of twoparallel circular plates at least 96% of the minimum pipe inside diameter and separated by arigid bar of length 1.5 times the pipe inside diameter

    Out of plane tolerance shall not be greater than 0.1 mm per degree of bend angle The radius of bend curvature shall be within 1% and 12.7mm of the specified value The bend angle, as shown in Figure 6.2, shall be within 0 75 degrees of the specified

    value. The ends of all bends shall be cut square to the axis of the bend, within a tolerance of

    1.5mm

    4.6 WELD BEVELSThe bends ends shall be as specified on the relevant data sheet. Where required, weld bevels shall beprepared in accordance with API5L/ISO 3183.

    Non-destructive testing shall be performed on all bends in the final heat treated condition. Proceduresfor all non-destructive testing shall be submitted to PURCHASER for approval prior to commencementof testing and shall include techniques used and acceptance criteria.SUPPLIER shall only use NDT personnel qualified to ASNT-TC-1A level 2 minimum or agreedequivalent. The following NDT shall be performed:

    100% visual examination of the external surface and accessible parts of the internalsurface. The bends shall be free from gouges, dents, wrinkles, bulges, kinks and surfacespalling

    If not ultrasonically tested on the mother pipe prior to bending, 100% ultrasonic testingover an arc of 90 both sides of the extrados of the bend using a shear wave technique. Areference standard with longitudinal and transverse notches equivalent to 5 percent of thenominal wall thickness of the pipe and in accordance with the requirements of API 5L SR 4shall be used. All discontinuities exceeding the reference standard shall be recorded andinvestigated.

    A 50mm wide circumferential band at the final cut ends of the bend shall be ultrasonicallytested for laminations in accordance with BS 5996 Level E3.

    The longitudinal seam weld of bends fabricated from SAW or ERW pipe shall be 100%ultrasonically tested according to the requirements of the relevant line pipe Specification insection 2.1

    100% magnetic particle testing shall be performed over an arc of 120- on the extrados ofeach bend, in accordance with ASME Section V Article 7 or equivalent approved byPURCHASER. Neither imperfections exceeding 6mm in length nor cracks shall bepermitted. All surface scale shall be removed by wire brushing prior to magnetic particletesting

    100% magnetic particle testing of the end faces or weld bevels of each bend for laminarimperfections in accordance with ASME Section V Article 7 or equivalent approved byPURCHASER. Imperfections exceeding 6 mm shall not be permitted.

    Hydrostatic testing shall be performed on all completed bends Test pressure shall be the same as for themother pipe, according to the requirements of the relevant linepipe specification in section 6.1.

    7 MECHANICAL TESTINGThe mother pipe for bend fabrication The SUPPLIER shall be responsible for supplying 6", 12" and 14NPS carbon steel pipe material suitable for manufacturing bends in accordance with this Specification.As the mechanical properties of the bends have been determined during procedure specification tests,destructive mechanical testing during production will not be required, and mechanical testing will bemade on the test bend only. However, PURCHASER reserves the right to require destructivemechanical testing whenever production bending parameters or heat treatment parameters, do not meetwith the parameters established in the qualified procedures. In such cases, the extent of testing shall bespecified by PURCHASER. Acceptance criteria for all tests shall be in accordance with Section 6 ofthis Specification. SUPPLIER shall propose a test procedure for approval by PURCHASER.

    8 REPAIRMinor surface imperfections may be removed by grinding, provided that the minimum wall thickness asdefined in Section 6.5 of this Specification is maintained and no sharp notch results. To ensure removalof defects, the ground area shall be inspected by magnetic particle testing according to proceduresapproved by PURCHASER. The wall thickness shall be checked by ultrasonic examination. Surfaceimperfections which cannot be removed .within these limits shall be cause for rejection of the bend.Weld repairs to the body of the bend will not be permitted.Laminations in the weld bevel may be removed by further machining provided that the dimensions ofthe bend are maintained within the specified limits.

    9 COATING AND PROTECTINGThe bends surface shall be free from all deleterious substances and the bends shall be supplied bare andfree of all paint marking. i.e uncoated.

    10.1 API REQUIREMENTThe carbon steel bends shall be clearly marked in accordance with the API 5L/ISO 3183 SpecificationSection 11.

    10.2 STENCIL MARKINGBoth ends of the bend shall be hard stamped on the bevel near the weld with a unique bend number thatcan be traced to the original pipe number. For bends manufactured from pipe of diameter less than 8,the pipe number may be applied by paint stencil to the external pipe surface.Unless otherwise specified, using paint stencils, each bend shall be marked internally near one end withthe following information.

    Bend tag number Pipe original individual identification number and bend suffix Purchase order 1 item number Heat No Diameter wall thickness Bend angle & radius Manufacturer.

    For bends manufactured from pipe of diameter less than 8, the paint markings may be applied to theexternal pipe surface. Any sections of unused straight pipe shall be marked with the original pipenumber and suffix (if more than one).

    10.3 DIE STAMPINGBoth ends of the bend shall be hard stamped on the end bevel with a unique bend tag number that can betraced to the original pipe number.

    Unless otherwise stated in the Requisition, materials shall be delivered by SUPPLIER with certificatesin accordance with BS EN 10204 type 3.1 B attached to the relevant certificate for the parent line pipe.

    12 HANDLING AND STORAGESUPPLIER shall submit to PURCHASER for approval, procedures for handling, stacking duringstorage, and stacking and securing bends for shipment. VENDOR shall provide APPROVED bevelprotectors. No welding of temporary attachments for handling, stacking or securing shall be permitted.All handling, loading and unloading shall be done in such a manner as to minimize damage using slingsor padded hooks.Rail cars, trucks, lighters, ships or other conveyances shall be free of debris or any substance that mightdamage the bends prior to loading and suitable timber and other dunnage shall be used to protect thebends against damage in transit.Loading onto or into rail cars, trucks, lighters, ships or other conveyances shall be performed inaccordance with API RP 5L 1 or API RP 5LWas appropriate, and in all cases in accordance with theapproved handling procedures. No on-deck marine shipment shall be permitted.Finished bends to be stored for a significant period of time at the mill or marshalling yard shall be storedin a manner to prevent corrosion.Bends shall not rest on projections, be subjected to point loadings or be allowed to rub on an adjacentobject. Pipe stresses shall be limited to prevent loading which results in out -of roundness.
