Mr. Bryce Seymore hasbeen announced as thenew Principal for theHarvester Academy’selementary school. When Mr. Seymorewas asked whenhe found outabout his newjob, he said “Ifound out earlythis summer.”This news maycome as a surprise, considering Mr.Seymore had such latenotice. Mr. Seymore saysthat he was very excitedto take on his new job,but at the same time hewould miss being a P.Eteacher. Does Mr.Seymore think his newjob was more stressful? “Iwould say that my job is alot busier.” When asked ifhe missed being the P.E.coach, he told us that he

missed it a lot, and thatbeing the P.E. coach is thebest. Mr. Seymore wasasked if his new jobinvolved any new tasks, and he said that he had tostart doing morningannouncements and to

operate carpool. Anew office with afancy desk camealong with Mr.Seymore’spromotion. Whenasked if he liked

his new office, hesaid “I like my new

office, but I needsome time to decorate

it.” Mr. Seymore said thatthere were also changeswith his dress code andthat he can no longerwear shorts. Next, heexplained he needed nonew qualifications for hisnew job, because he hadMaster’s Degree prior tocoming to work atHarvester. Next Mr.Seymore was asked if hadto be more strict or stern

with student for his newjob. He said thatfortunately he hasn’t yet, because it is early in theyear. Finally, he wasasked if he enjoyed hisnew job and he replied, “Ienjoy my new jobalthough it is very busy. Ihave a feeling things willsettle down as the year goon.”“I like my new

office, but I need

some time to

decorate it.”

(cont. from pg. 1)Maintenance is not onlyfixing something butpreventing somethingfrom breaking. Mr. Lockesays that there are alwaysair conditioners requiringmaintenance the firstweek of school becausethey haven’t been run allsummer. Mr. Locke saysthat he cannot anticipatewhat kind of problems hewill encounter.Sometimes the ice

machine is broken, the airconditioning is broken orthere are leaks in theceiling. His favorite partof his job is fixing thingsfor little children becausethey are fascinated by it.He says the mostrewarding part of his jobis getting notes, thankinghim for all that he does byfixing things. Mr. Lockesays his main concern ismaking sure everybodyhas what they need to get

their job done whetherit’s staff or students.Trouble shooting is thehardest part of his job.Mr. Robert Locke enjoysshooting during his freetime and is a member ofthe gun club. He alsolikes to fish and watchbaseball.

Harvester Christian Academy’sLady Hawks volleyball teamtook a win against their rival,Heirway Christian Academy.Harvester took the game inthree quick sets, beatingHeirway and starting out on topfor a new season. The LadyHawks' new coach, EricaAdams, had no worries for thegame because she knows whather players are capable of.Coach Adams has highexpectations for the season. She expects a winning season, leading to first place atregionals, and a trip to thestate championship. Teamworkis extremely important to

Coach Adams, as she believes itis the only way to have awinning and successful team.Harvester’s volleyball team hashad its difficulties already thisyear, even though it’s just thestart of the season. One of theirtwo strongest outside hitters,Lexie Saylors, tore her ACL andhad to have surgery, leaving theteam with only 7 players. Mostvolleyball teams have at least10 players, and since 6 playershave to be on the court at alltimes, the Lady Hawks werecutting it close. Another one oftheir players, Brooke McCune, also developed a knee injury, and was out all pre-season andtheir first game, leaving theLady Hawks with only 6

players. The Lady Hawks thenbrought up two players fromtheir JV team, Nicole Sorg andErykah Stasher, as insurance incase of an injury. The LadyHawks’ relationship on and offthe court should lead to manymore wins.
