DESCRIPTION

I’ve known Lynn for a long time so I completely trust her in this process but it’s definitely NOT easy to do this and do it publicly. It’s going deep into my spirit, my heart and my desires in this life. It’s not a biz I’m doing to make a dollar. This is very meaningful to me and I’m so thankful Lynn picked up on that in a huge way!

About Vera Raposo

I have been an entrepreneur since the age of 20 (1995),from owning 5 retail stores to discovering the beauty ofthe internet in 2004. I sold/closed all 5 locations andmoved my biz completely online in 2007.

My life and biz was completely overhauled when mydaughter was diagnosed with cancer. After her 2 ½ yearbattle (you can read more about it here) I sold my onlinebiz.

I then spent a couple of years with God, thinking, praying and just being with Him and discovering who I am and what Ineed to do in this world.

YourCreativeBiz.com was launched October 2012 with the goal todiscover the life and business of my own dreams. I hope to inspire manywomen to do the same.

My motto in life is, “Life is good! Best wearing flip flops and living mylife for others.”

Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certainof what we do not see.

Vera is going through the brainstorming cycle, and she’s processing ideasthe same way most people do. Just freely putting it out there, thensorting through it all. Only she’s doing it publicly. (Kudos, Vera, forhaving the guts to lay it all out there!)

Ahhhh … Thank you Lynn! Cause I was kinda freaking out a bit.

I’ve known Lynn for a long time so I completely trust her in this processbut it’s definitely NOT easy to do this and do it publicly.

It’s going deep into my spirit, my heart and my desires in this life. It’snot a biz I’m doing to make a dollar. This is very meaningful to me andI’m so thankful Lynn picked up on that in a huge way!

I’m not worried about my idea being “stolen” or anything like that eitherbecause I know to the depths of my soul that there is only one ME andonly one way that I will bring this all out in my own unique way.

Lynn, you caught me on the cooking, and it seemed so crazy silly now tothink I would even consider it. I think that’s our first instinct even tochoose something that can “fix” us or somehow because we’re going to bemaking money with it, it must mean that it has to be hard.

Easy Money? Nope I’m Not Drinking Kool-Aid

Oh you totally made me giggle on this, for sure I do agree that it takes

hard work to start a business, *very* hard work. In fact I often use thephrase, “working my tooshie off.”

It takes some serious hustle to go the distance.

As I’ve lived the FIRE of running 5 retail stores, working almost every dayof the blooming year and extended holiday hours through Christmas(Thanks WalMart by the way), my life from 1996 – 2007 was a completeblur.

So I do happen to refer to an online biz as easy but really it’s not. It stilltakes the same GUTS to jump into the unknown, it takesPERSERVERANCE to go the distance and FOCUS to get ahead and makethe income of your dreams.

I’ve seen the income from my offline biz and and I’ve seen the height ofmy online biz. Hands down, I would choose the online models that I’vedone to enjoy the freedom even though I haven’t even come close to theincome I made offline yet.

But what I can say is that I HAVE made the same monthly sales that Ibrought in at one of my stores … online.

That is a happy place to be, I definitely look forward to those days again. But right now, I’m not there. There has been far too much emotionalstuff in my life that has held me from my online biz.

Because of those serious things that happened, I’m on a mission to makemy life count.

There are many days that I struggle and miss my old business. I walkthrough the malls and see an open space and think, “I could lease thatand if I did, what would I place there?”

There’s an adrenalin factor to it especially when you have been a seriouswork-a-holic as I have.

I’m FORCING myself to take it easier, so when I refer to “hands off” Idon’t really mean less work at all. I mean more PEACE in what I’m doingin this life and inside my biz.

But I truly do “get” what you’re saying, people need to know that it’s not aland of butterflies and rainbows with money falling from the sky. It’s real , get it done kind of work.

Now Onto Lynn’s Homework

My advice: Figure out who you are to the people who know you best. Howare your known? How would they describe you? What do they come toyou for most? And… is this the same as how you WANT to be known, orwhat you want to be known FOR?

There are days where I feel I’ve made mistakes and seeing this aboveabout what others have said about me helps put me into a new frame ofmind, what an excellent exercise!!!

Lynn said …

I can see Vera as a “spiritual adventurist” type blogger that tours some ofthe earth’s most beautiful spots, and shares hope and inspiration thathelps people get way outside their mental comfort zone and embrace lifemore fully.

All by sharing her story, her faith, her experiences & adventures, words ofwisdom and practical application. Along with beautiful inspiring photosthat she takes on her own “spiritual adventures”.

When I read this Lynn you got me, a nice big lump in my throat formedand some tears fell. I can see this as reality and as I was reading this Iwas thinking, “Wow, I could really do that, it’s something that I couldLIVE all day long every single day of my life.”

I feel that it would give me peace that would make it easier to work onthe current missions I’m involved with which are definitely hard to do.Already there’s been much sadness when I did the Ride to ConquerCancer when that precious young man at 16 was hit by a car and died …so precious, so sad.

I realized a few hours later that we had to continue, before the 2 day tripI purchased “glittery eyeshadow.“ It was my own special way to honourthose who were in the fight of their lives and bring me my own personalsupport from my heart.

Many others dressed up in very FUN ways, I just did a bit of that glitter,it was personal.

When that precious child died that day, we were driving to the finish line(I was on the sweep crew helping riders and driving alongside of them), Igrabbed my glitter and made sure I had some on before we got there.

So I think this type of business would add such peace, joy and love to mylife it would really help. The stuff I want to support is heart-wrenchingbut I truly feel called to do it.

Right now in this very moment today, I’ve been busy back and forthlaunching this new site …

Friends United Beyond All Race — This team lead by Al Lamons (aka DJAlibaba) is raising money and awareness specifically for Make A Wish.I’m PROUD to do everything I can to spread the word.

It really is my passion to put my hands to help and bring someone’svision to life.

So here’s my next question to you Lynn …

When you say this, “helps people get way outside their mental comfortzone and embrace life more fully” I actually start having a vision ofretreats as well but for now I want to focus solely on affiliate marketingfor my own life.

I need this peace in this time of my life, that’s why I don’t even want tocreate products or do any coaching.

I need to find PEACE. The things I’ve witnessed my daughter endure is soheavy on my heart.

I’ve been discovering how to “let things go” and “let God direct my life forthe first time ever.” Like I said above, I often have to fight the urge toopen a store, this has been the most uncomfortable I have ever been inmy life.

Do you think it’s unrealistic to not include product development and it’sok to focus just on affiliate marketing for this kind of venture?

Thanks Lynn, this has been such an incredibly LOVELY experience so farand we’ve barely started. I’d also like to point out one thing, I think whenmany of us think about researching a niche our knee jerk reaction is tostart with keyword research.

It’s sooooo refreshing that we didn’t start that way and almost seems oddto me (lol!)
