ICT For Media. Ifee Christopher, Ssettema Daniel
This research was done on this topic because not much research has been done on how ICT has been used for media
production. My research will therefore enrich on how newspaper mobile Application have facilita te wide coverage of news reporting from the subscribers and publisher who are the targeted users of newspaper mobile Application.
The researcher established that Africa’s media may not perform like the western world counterparts due to slow
internet connectivity which. These limitations affect the running of these newspaper mobile applications. The News Paper Mobile Applications are not only a content management application but a tool that will reduce the cost of
news publication, this costs print media houses depending on the issues printed. Anissue costs one thousand two
hundred Uganda shillings the cost of one thousand copies will cost one million five hundred thousand Ugandan shillings in news issues on a daily basis based on the information provided by Premier printers & Media Ltd on
Nasser Road therefore Mobile Newspaper Application is the way forward in publishing News articles and managing news content cost effectively. Newspaper interviews are not always easy because the interviewed perso;2ns are not
willing to provide news to the newspaper but with social media like facebook, whatsApp and sms with voice calls
embedded in to Newspaper mobile application will make interviewed persons open up and welling to provide information to the news team. Social media can draw the attention of students in the university as they spend 8 to 10
hour’s social media according to Roberts, PhD, Ben Williams’s professor of marketing in Baylor’s School of
Business. The study found that approximately 60 percent of college students admit they may be addicted as published in the
journal of Behavioural Addictions: source Baylor University. During this research, the researcher established that all
journalists are aware of the relevance of ICT and its impact on the day-to-day activities of journalists. The researcher also observed how the new media has reduced the technological gap between the West and South and how ICT has
simplified the work of the journalist. Production time has been tremendously cut down by ICT use to get my results; the researcher used different research methods, which included observation. I also interviewed 35 journalists,
writers, editors, subeditors and managers. ;
Finally, I distributed 200 questionnaires of which 101 were returned filled infrom the findings the frequency of 52 representing a percentage of 87 said yes while 13% of the respondents said no that
theythink the mobile applications will solve most of your challenges faced by print media-Newspaper
companies in Uganda. Mobile Application for Ovulation Guide Moreen Kabarungi, Katusiime Anita, Ntegyerize Joan, Tebandeke Lawrence, Nakaggwa Namuli
