TARGET AUDIENCEThis full-day conference is intended for clinicians who participate in the care of neonates.

COURSE OBJECTIVES• Describe several dermatoses seen in the neonate.• Discuss the anatomic and functional differences of neonatal skin.• List risk factors for developing compassion fatigue.• Discuss the impact of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) on the

parent-child relationship and child development.• Identify concerning seizure activity.• De� ne Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) and discuss comfort measures.• Distinguish between genetic screening and diagnostic testing.• Determine appropriate applications for social media use in healthcare settings.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITNursing Contact Hours: Children’s Mercy Kansas City is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Midwest Multistate Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

For successful completion, nurses must sign in, participate in the interactive sessions of the program and complete the electronic evaluation form after the conference.

This education activity awards up to 6.0 Nursing Contact Hours

Respiratory Therapists: The Children’s Mercy CEU Evaluator is an approved provider for Respiratory Continuing Education on behalf of the Kansas Respiratory Care Society, a chapter society of the AARC. Providership #KRCS003.
