for Children – 2015 – Participation regarding. Dear Sir/Madam, I am glad to inform you that the below-detailed exhibit from your school/institution has been selected for participation and display at the 42nd Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition (JNNSMEE) for Children – 2015, which will be held at Muvattipuzha, Ernakulam District (Kochi), Kerala during ___ December 2015. The venue is Nirmala College, Muvattipuzha.

In this regard, you are requested to kindly forward the details of participating child and teacher, only one each, in the attached ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM along with their one stamp size photographs immediately to the Coordinator, JNNSMEE 2015. The duration of this exhibition is seven (07) days including a day for local excursion around Kochi (___ December 2015).
2. As this is a prestigious National Programme, the exhibits need to be presentable and properly displayed in the exhibition. You may, therefore, request the participating student and teacher, only one each, of your school/institution to improve the exhibit on the basis of suggestions given in the enclosure titled “Some Points for Proper Display of Exhibits”.
3. You may be aware that students and teachers from different parts of the country participate in the Exhibition. Therefore, a number of cultural programmes may also be arranged in the evenings during the period of the exhibition. We would like that the participants give short presentations

reflecting the cultural aspects of their states/regions. If your teacher and student like to participate in the cultural event(s), they may be advised to come prepared with necessary material.
4. You may also kindly note the norms and guidelines as given below for participation in the exhibition. These guidelines are mandatory and should be strictly adhered.
(i) Only one student and one teacher per selected exhibit will be permitted with each exhibit. If two exhibits are selected for participation in JNNSMEE-2015 from the same school/institution, even then only one escort teacher will be allowed to accompany the participating students. However each selected exhibit can be represented by a different student (one student per exhibit).
(ii) In case more than one student or teacher have been associated with the development of an exhibit, even then, only one student and one teacher will be permitted to participate.
(iii) Please note that no request for additional participants will be entertained.
(iv) Participating teacher/student should not bring their families/parents to the exhibition and such persons if they reach accompanied by their families/parents will not be allowed to be registered. (Any additional person will have to make own arrangements for boarding and lodging.)
It will not be possible to accommodate additional teacher(s) and student(s) under any circumstances as lodging & boarding facilities will be just enough for participants only.
(v) The "CERTIFICATE OF DISPLAY" of the exhibit at the 42nd Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition (JNNSMEE) for Children – 2015 will be issued to all students and teachers who have guided the development of exhibit, as mentioned in this letter.
(vi) In case, any of the teachers who have guided the development of the exhibit is not able to participate in the JNNSMEE, any other teacher of your school may ESCORT the participating child. However such escort teachers will not be provided the Certificate of Display.
(vii) Space and electricity connections etc. will be provided at the venue as per requirement. Running tap water will not be provided for the exhibits.
(viii) Boarding and lodging will be provided to the bonafide participants free of cost as per the rules of the NCERT.
(ix) The nearest railway station to Muvattupuzha is the ALUVA Railway Station. But all long distance trains do not stop at Aluva. The other nearer railway stations to Muvattipuzha are Ernakulam North (also called Ernakulam Town) and Ernakulam South (also called Ernakulam Junction). The nearest Bust Stand to the venue is KSRTC Aluva. Anybody coming from outside Kerala (by bus) will have to pass through Aluva bus stand.
(x) There will be Reception Counters at Aluva Railway Station, Ernakulam Town, and Ernakulam Junction Railway Stations. In addition there will also be a Reception Counter at KSRTC Aluva Bus Stand. All the participants will be received at these Reception Counters by the volunteers of the JNNSMEE–2015 and brought to the venue by buses engaged for the purpose. The participants are advised to contact the JNNSMEE–2015 Reception Counter on arrival at these points.

(xi) The Reception Counters as mentioned in above paragraph shall open on the afternoon of December 2015. Please ensure reaching Ernakulam by the morning of ___ December 2015. The participants will have to set up their exhibits on ___ December 2015 at the exhibition venue.
(xii) Participants are advised to plan their return journeys from Ernakulam not before ___ December 2015 evening (6:00 pm). However they may stay back by___ December 2015 afternoon.
(xiii) In order to encourage National Integration, it is expected that the participants will enjoy their stay similar to that of a camp life. Only regional /local vegetarian food will be provided during the exhibition. Participants with special needs on account of boarding will have to make their own arrangements.
(xiv) Ernakulam remains pleasant during December and it seldom rains. The temperature is
usually 17 C – 24 C. Participants are advised to bring appropriate clothing. Please carry umbrellas.
(xv) The safety of exhibits during exhibition hours and personal belongings during the period of stay will be the responsibility of the participants. No claim for any loss of articles will be entertained. Participants are requested to keep valuables under lock and key.

5. T.A. and Freight
(a) The exhibit should accompany the participant and in no case should be sent by mail or as unaccompanied freight.
(b) Payment of freight expenses for the exhibit only will be made on production of receipt of money spent as freight charges, obtained from railways. The expenditure incurred for hiring tempo/three wheeler scooter etc., at the station of departure or during transit shall be reimbursed only on production of a duly signed printed money receipt with the registration number of the vehicle, as per NCERT rules.
(c) Please note the expenses incurred for journeys undertaken for making arrangements for railway booking will not be reimbursed. Please retain all tickets and receipts in original as the same will be required for claiming travelling allowance. Also ensure to keep the photocopies of the tickets purchased for back journeys.
(d) Coolie charges for the exhibit only, will be paid as per rules of the NCERT.
(e) T.A. for non-local participants: AC 3Teir class rail fare both ways including sleeper facility at return concessional rates by the shortest route or (ii) actual bus fare both ways (limited to AC 3Teir class rail fare where places are connected by rail) or (iii) actual bus fare both ways for places not connected by rail.
(f) D.A. for the journey time from their Headquarters to the site of the exhibit to midnight will be paid to the participants of JNNSMEE as per NCERT rules. No. D.A. will be paid for the duration of the Exhibition.
(g) Conveyance for local Participants: Teachers and students will be reimbursed the conveyance charges as per the NCERT rate per head per day.

Only one teacher will be permitted even if more than one exhibit from the same school/institution is selected for participation in JNNSMEE–2015. POINTS FOR PROPER DISPLAY OF EXHIBIT
Following are a few suggestive points for proper display of exhibits in JNNSMEE – 2015.
1. All exhibits should be neat and clean and in working order 2. A banner of size 100 cm × 50 cm – a sample of which is attached, shall be provided to all participants
by the Organisers for display on the wall (or kanat) behind the exhibit at about 6 feet height. 3. Use white chart paper (half/quarter sheet) to explain the exhibit, circuit or any other diagram. This
may be displayed on the demonstration table. Use black ink for writing on the chart paper. 4. The commentary for explaining the details of exhibit should not be extraordinarily long. Exercise
economy in oral words. One may use non-verbal communication material for this. In order to avoid repeating the commentary often, an audio CD may also be played. A copy of brief write- up of the exhibit may also be provided to the visitors.
5. Use graphics such as graphs, bar diagrams, illustrations, posters etc., to convey detailed information of the exhibit. A copy of each may be kept in file for reference.
6. Display the project report on quarter size paper sheets kept in a folder, if the exhibit is based on project work. Display photocopies of reference material, if any, related to the project. It is advisable to bring a few extra chart papers, pen, pencil, eraser, cello tape, double sided- tape etc. for last minute writing that you may need to do at the exhibition ground.
