Introduction

= May Allah honor him and grant him peace.

The Prophet Muhammad () said: "Convey (knowledge) from me even if it is just one ayah..." [Sahih Bukhari 3461]

The motivation for putting together this collection stemmed from the constant need that we are faced with today for people to become aware of the innate kindness, the manners, and the traits of the Prophet Muhammad, Peace be upon him.

The Prophet Muhammad grew up an orphan child and was soon to lose his mother at the age of six. He spent most of his time amongst the markets with his uncle or with his friends in the desert. He was the one who was always trusted and the one who often spent time in the mountains, separating himself from the physical, material world.

The Muhammad, may Peace and Blessings be upon him, before Prophethood was the same Muhammad, may Peace and Blessings be upon him, after Prophethood; only enlightened from the light and guidance of Revelation and his every-growing relationship with his Lord. The Prophet Muhammad said

"People are like mines of gold and silver; those who were excellent in Jahiliya (during the Pre-Islamic days of ignorance) are excellent In Islam, when they develop understanding."[Sahih Muslim 6377]

Insha'Allah, God Willing, these Hadith are intended to give a general and thorough understanding of the kindness and manners that the Prophet Muhammad, Peace be upon him, had. There are far more beautiful parts of his life that you can relate to by developing a better understanding of his life and who he is. We only hope that this collection of Hadith helps to show a better side of humanity that everyone can relate to.

"And We have not sent you except comprehensively to mankind as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. But most of the people do not know."[Surat Saba' (Sheba) (34:28)]

There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often. [Surat Al-'Azb (The Combined Forces) (33:21)]

1. ... It is related from Ibrahim bin Muhammad (May Allah be pleased with him) who is from the sons (grandsons of Ali, may Allah be pleased with him), that whenever Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, described the noble features of Prophet of Allah (), he used to say:"The Prophet of Allah () was neither very tall nor short, but of a medium stature among people. His hair was neither very curly nor very straight, but had a slight wave in it. He did not have a big body nor a round face, but his blessed face was slightly round (meaning he did not have a fully round face nor a fully elongated face, but in between the two). The complexion of Prophet of Allah () was white with redness in it. The blessed eyes of Prophet of Allah () were extremely black. His eyelashes were long. The joints of the body (e.g. elbows and knees etc.) were large, likewise the portion between the two shoulders was broad and fully fleshed. There was no hair (more than normal) on his body. He had a thin line of hair running from the chest to the navel. The hands and feet of Prophet of Allah () were fully fleshed. When he walked, he lifted his legs with vigor, as if he were descending to a low-lying place. When he addressed a person he turned his whole body towards that person. The seal of Prophethood was situated between his shoulders. He was a last of all prophets. He was the most generous and the most truthful. He was the most kind-hearted and came from a most noble family. Any person who saw him suddenly would become awe-inspired. Whosoever saw him for the first time, because of his awe-inspiring personality, would be overcome with a feeling of profound respect. Anyone who came in close contact with him, and knew his excellent character was smitten with the love of his excellent attributes. Anyone who described his noble features can only say: "I have not seen anyone like the Prophet of Allah () neither before nor after him."
