The Vanguard is the official student newspaper of the University of South Alabama, serving theUniversity’s student, staff, faculty and campus community since 1965. It is published and distributed

on Mondays during the regular academic year. One of the largest circulation weeklies in southern Alabama, The Vanguard is a student-produced newspaper, designed to provide a learning

environment as well as to inform the public of campus news and issues.

Our Readership readers reflect a diversity of lifestyles,interests and buying power. Students come to theUniversity of South Alabama from more than 40States and 60 countries, but they all have one thing in common — they do their buying in the Mobile Area. More than 15,500 students attend USA. The average student age is 25. 75 percent are age 21 and older. USA has roughly 6,000 faculty and staff who read The Vanguard. More than 4,000 new students arrive on campus each fall.

About Circulation Weekly circulation is 8,000. Using the industry standard of 2.3 readers per copy, that translates to more than 18,000 readers weekly. The Vanguard is the only newspaper distributed in all classroom buildings and dormitories.

Special ServicesLet us help you design your advertisement. We offer thousands of clip art images and borders from which to choose. We can also incorporate your graphics. We will provide photographic services for a nominal fee.

CreditNew accounts are required to pay in advance untilcredit is established. Accounts more than 60 daysoverdue will not be allowed to advertise furtheruntil the debt is paid in full.

DeadlinesAd space must be reserved by noon on Tuesdayprior to the following Monday’s publication.Artwork or ad copy must be received within 24hours after the Tuesday reservation deadline.

ColorColor costs are based on $200 per page and areadditional. Color space is limited and is on afirst-come-first-serve basis.

AdjustmentsThe Vanguard’s liability will not exceed the chargefor space occupied by the error. The Vanguard isnot responsible for typographical errors that do not decrease the value of the ad. Credit will be applied for first insertion only when the advertising manager has been notified within five days of publication.
